I open my eyes and see before me the great desert.
Desolated isolation stretches for as far as the eye can see.
The dust swirls in the air,
mocking me with their dryness,
alerting me to the parchness in my throat.
I suck in a breath,
inhaling the thickness of the heated atmosphere.
The rays of the burning sun searing my skin
as I wonder whether I will be saved from this fate.
I turn at a sudden sound,
and I gaze into liquid sapphire.
A lopsided grin banishs my fear,
and I run to embrace my saviour,
my impact knocking off his hat.
His soft chuckle at my action brings a smile to my lips
and I implusively turn to kiss him,
only to miss and kiss his jawline instead.
Oh well.
His rough stubble scratch lightly against my cheek,
sending tingles down my spine.
A sparkle twinkles from his unbelievable blues,
as his deep, low voice soothingly asks,
"Water?"
