Vin walked down the way checking doors as he went
Ensuring all was locked up from the cold, that this Christmas Eve's sent
Stepping off the boardwalk, passing the alley's way
A hard hit from behind and down on the ground he lay

The news had come out in the First World War
The bloody Red Baron was flying once more
The Allied command ignored all of its men
And called on Snoopy to do it again.

Curled up on the silk covered pillow
She listened to the wind outside that bellowed
Suddenly the ears perking up as another sound caught
Up and to the window for the cause she sought.

'Twas the night before Christmas, 40 below
When Snoopy went up in search of his foe
He spied the Red Baron, fiercely they fought
With ice on his wings Snoopy knew he was caught.

Spotting the reason for her attention was drawn
Quickly she moved to the man of con
Jumping on and across him she ran amuck
Getting the response needed, the bullet shot the window as she ducked.

Christmas bells those Christmas bells Ring out from the land
Asking peace of all the world And good will to man

The tail a twiching jumped from the railing across to the bell
Swinging it madly, ringing out the call as from it she sailed

The Baron had Snoopy dead in his sights
He reached for the trigger to pull it up tight
Why he didn't shoot, well, we'll never know
Or was it the bells from the village below?

The bountyhunter pointed his gun at Vin
Smiling with evil that this time he'd win
The toning that suddenly rang through the air
Turning, surprise to find fur & claws attacking with dare

The Baron made Snoopy fly to the Rhine
And forced him to land behind the enemy lines
Snoopy was certain that this was the end
When the Baron cried out, "Merry Christmas, my friend"

Six men ran out to the sound of screams and dismay
Stopping short at the sight not knowing what to say
Vin sitting, blood on his face, his gun held on enemy & hero
On the man's chest, growling, fur fluffed out radiating heat in the sub-zero

The Baron then offered a holiday toast
And Snoopy, our hero, saluted his host
And then with a roar they were both on their way
Each knowing they'd meet on some other day.

The men sat around the table, Ezra's friend perched in the middle
Vin opening another nut setting on the pile that made her look little
Ezra saying, “Mr. Tanner, I think that is quite enough for the night”
"I'm giving her all she wants for making this eve for me very bright.”
