Trouble in Paradise

"So how bad was the meeting Chris? Top brass coming up with some new procedures for us all again, or what?" Buck Wilmington asked with a evil grin as Chris Larabee entered the Team Seven offices, loaded down with reports and file folders.

"Oh, same as usual," Chris replied, enjoying himself as he took in the curious stares of his team members. He'd been called into an urgent meeting with AD Travis right after lunch, with no warning, and now, nearly four hours later, the six men before him were near to bursting with curiosity.

"We've still got jobs, right Chris?" Buck persisted.

"Well, let's just say that in two weeks, we're all out of here," Chris intoned in a low voice.

"What?" JD burst out. "We're outta here? What's that supposed to mean Chris?"

Chris favored the six men with a feral grin, savoring their shocked faces. He considered letting them all twist in the wind for a few more minutes but decided he couldn't be that cruel. Besides he was excited at the news and wanted to share it.

"Why don't we all sit down," he began, trying to lead the men into the office's conference room.

"No, if you've got something to say, just say it, "Vin said quietly, hands clenched at his sides, as he uncharacteristically disagreed with Chris's suggestion.

Chris spun his head around to stare at Vin with surprise, his eyes softening at the uncertainty brimming from the blue depths. No longer interested in prolonging his explanation, Chris decided to get right to the point.

"We're headed to Mexico in two weeks guys," he said gleefully, crossing his arms and readying himself for the eruption he knew was sure to follow.

"Mexico?"

"What?"

"Huh?"

"How's that again?"

Chris smiled as the excited voices of the other agents swirled around the office.

"Ready to go into the conference room with me now, boys?" he asked.

"You betcha!" Buck exclaimed, leading the way.

After the seven were seated, Chris began to explain.

"You all remember last fall, when we hosted that group of federal agents from Mexico?"

Six heads nodded back at him silently, hanging on his every word.

"Well, our neighbors to the south have decided it's time to reciprocate. Representatives from the ATF and FBI have been invited to a conference, on US-Mexican law enforcement cooperation. As the top ATF office in the US, we've been invited to attend, along with an FBI team out of Miami."

"Two weeks?" Nathan questioned.

"Yep," Chris replied. "AD Travis cleared our schedules, and we're cleared to go. We've ironed out all the details."

"And where, pray tell, Mr. Larabee, will this momentous summit occur? Some backwater town, south of the border, no doubt," Ezra drawled.

"Well, I guess you could say that, Ezra," Chris answered, ignoring Buck's groan. "That is, if you consider Cancun to be a backwater town."

"Cancun!" Buck shouted. "Chris, I've been to Cancun. It's one hell of a party town! Crawling with women! And all those skimpy clothes! Woo-hoo!" He grinned broadly and slapped Chris on the back. "Count me in pard, I'm packing my bags tonight!"

"Cancun?" Vin said shyly, staring back at Chris.

"That's right, Cancun," Chris said proudly, pleased that his team had been selected for the trip. They all deserved some fun in the sun, even if they would be working some of the time. He fixed each of his agents with a stare. "Travis's secretary will be sending over our itineraries next week. Any questions in the meantime?"

"Nope," Buck answered, standing up and heading for the door. "It's five o'clock, and time for happy hour," he declared. "And we've got some celebrating to do!"

"Okay with everybody?" Chris asked.

The rest nodded and headed for the door, wide smiles on their faces.

Vin was the last one through the door, and Chris grabbed his arm as he passed by. "Hold on a minute, Vin, will you?" he asked.

"Sure thing Chris," Vin replied.

"We'll see you fellas at the bar," Chris called out to the others.

"See ya there, pards," Buck answered back, leading the rest out of the office.

Chris turned to Vin. "Come into my office for a minute?"

Vin nodded and walked ahead. Chris followed and shut the door behind them.

"You okay Vin?" he asked, placing his arms around the younger man, squeezing him tightly against him.

"Yeah Chris, I just thought.....when you said we were outta here, that we were splitting up. The team, I mean," Vin said haltingly, struggling to explain himself.

"I know pard, I was only kidding around, but then I saw how upset you were getting. Sorry."

"It's okay Chris," Vin replied hurriedly. "I just.....if anything happened and we couldn't see each other all day, I don't know what I'd do."

"Sshh, Vin, don't say that, don't worry about it, because that's never going to happen," Chris assured, leaning down to capture the younger man's lips with his own.

Vin clung to Chris, deepening the kiss, sliding his tongue past Chris's parted lips and pressing his body hard against the older man's lean torso.

"Vin," Chris breathed out hoarsely, when the two reluctantly broke apart for air. "You want to forget about going to Inez's?"

"Sounds good to me, cowboy," Vin answered back, his blue eyes glittering with desire as he gazed up at his lover. "But, the guys are expecting us, and we'll never get any peace tonight if we don't show. Buck'll be calling the house every five minutes asking another question about Mexico.”

"Guess you're right," Chris agreed reluctantly. "But there's always later tonight, right Vin?" he asked with a grin.

"Counting on it cowboy," Vin said with a wink.

+ + + + + + +

"JD, you've just asked to eat my shirt," Nathan groaned, as he listened to JD's third attempt at asking for change for the bus, in Spanish. Rolling his eyes, as JD grabbed his Spanish-English dictionary and started up again, Nathan fled the office, running into Vin and Chris as they walked back in from lunch.

"Find anything for the trip at lunch?" Nathan asked the pair as he passed by.

"A few little things Nate," Chris replied casually, while Vin stayed silent, smiling slightly at Nathan, then scurried to his desk, head down, as he felt his cheeks begin to flush.

"I'm going to grab a bite to eat, see you all in a few," Nathan called over his shoulder.

Chris nodded, then headed straight for Vin's desk.

"You gonna model that Speedo for me again tonight Vin?" Chris whispered in Vin's ear, causing the younger man to shiver with anticipation.

Vin was about to respond, when Buck burst into the office.

"Well, we're officially ready to go fellas, just ran into Theresa, from Travis's office, with our tickets and itineraries." He handed the large envelope to Chris.

"When are we flying out, Chris?" Josiah asked, as he hung up the phone and joined the other four.

"Looks like nice and early on Saturday," Chris said, reading the flight times as he rifled through the pack.

"Ez ain't gonna like that," Vin said, giving Chris a quick grin.

"Yep, guess that boy'll miss out on some of that beauty rest he's always harping about," Buck agreed.

Chris remained silent, reading through the rest of the material. "Looks like I won't be joining all of you until Sunday afternoon," he said, scanning a memo from AD Travis. "There's an emergency budget meeting on Saturday morning, and I won't be flying out until 8am on Sunday."

"Sunday?" Vin said, his face falling.

"My flight will arrive at 2:02 pm, it says here." He turned to Vin, keeping his voice light. "So I'll still have time for some sun. Our meetings don't start until after lunch on Monday."

"And that's why they pay you the big bucks, Chris. Somebody's gotta attend those meetings with the stuffed shirts," Buck said.

"Thanks Buck, I'll keep that in mind on Saturday, when I'm sitting in here at the meeting," Chris retorted. He looked down at his watch. "And if we don't get back to work soon, none of us will be heading out on Saturday," he announced.

"Well put Chris," Josiah agreed, heading back to his desk. The others followed suit.

TWO

"Chris, you want me to stay and fly out with you on Sunday?" Vin offered for the umpteenth time.

"No, cowboy, I don't," Chris said gently, as he helped Vin with his packing on Friday night at the ranch. "I want you to go down tomorrow morning with the rest of the team, and have a great time. I'll see you on Sunday, and we'll have all day together, and then Monday until after lunch." He watched as Vin, still unconvinced, sat down on the large bed they shared.

"Won't be much fun without you down there," he said wistfully.

"You won't even miss me," Chris replied, giving Vin a crooked grin as he ruffled his curly brown hair.

"Chris....." Vin started to say, but was interrupted by his lover.

"I know Vin," he said huskily, kissing Vin fiercely and pressing him down flat on the bed. You're going to miss me Vin, and I'm going to miss you, too." He slid on top of the younger man, grinding his hips against Vin's stirring flesh. "I've gotten used to having you laying next to me, all night long. And even one night without you is going to seem like forever."

"I could stay," Vin offered once more.

Chris looked down at Vin's big blue eyes, his breath catching in his throat at the love and loyalty he saw reflecting out of the sapphire pools. With his last coherent thought, he wondered to himself what he had ever done so right to deserve having Vin in his life.

"Chris, make love to me," Vin begged.

With a low growl, Chris began nipping at Vin's neck, working his way up to the sensitive ear lobs, biting on them lightly, then working his way back down Vin's slender throat.

"Oh Chris.......feels so good," Vin purred, arching his back as Chris peeled off his shirt and immediately latched onto one of his nipples. Chris lightly grazed the soft pink nub with his teeth, moving to the other peak when Vin began to moan and twist frantically beneath him.

"Oh God Chris.....please.....I.....I can't stand it," Vin moaned. "Please.....cowboy, more....." He reached for Chris's pants, fingers fumbling at the button and zipper.

"No Vin, not yet, this is for you," Chris replied harshly, pulling Vin's hands away from his groin with a gentle touch that belied his strident voice.

"Chris....please, let me touch you," Vin pleaded, reaching again for the lean body of his lover. "That's what I want."

Moving closer to Vin once more, Chris allowed the younger man to undress him, then he finished removing the last of Vin's clothing, leaving both men naked and eager, panting as they raked eyes over each other's firm, hard bodies.

Vin leaned up and rummaged in one of his bags, pulling out a bottle of suntan lotion. He showed it to Chris with a wicked grin.

"Planning on sunbathing tonight Vin?" Chris asked hungrily.

"Well, actually, I see something of yours that needs some of this lotion on it," Vin teased, as he coated his hand with the sunblock and reached for Chris's cock, stroking and massaging the lotion into the stiffened member.

"God, that's cold!" Chris cried out, flinching at the temperature of the lotion.

"Oh, here, let me warm it up," Vin cooed, blowing on Chris's erection, then adding more lotion to his hand, which he deftly wrapped around the swollen flesh, rubbing it up and down vigorously.

"Vin....." Chris growled, becoming even harder as Vin worked on him.

"What Chris?" Vin asked, blue eyes wide with mock innocence, a chuckle bursting from his lips.

Chris lowered himself onto the sharpshooter, sealing the laughing mouth against his own, plunging his tongue deeply into Vin's sweet mouth until both men were rolling on the bed, clawing at each other with breathless desperation.

"Vin, I want you so bad," Chris gasped out, running his hands down the younger man's trimly muscled back, squeezing the tight mounds of his buttocks hungrily.

"Then take me Chris...now....please," Vin rasped out, spreading his legs, opening himself up for his lover.

Craving the heat of Vin's body, Chris grabbed frantically for the lotion, spreading more of the liquid over his cock and fingers. Easing two of the lotion covered fingers into Vin, he quickly prepared his lover to receive him, forcing himself to stay in control, when all he wanted to do was take Vin hard, then and there.

"Chris! Please! Now!" Vin demanded, twisting and writhing against the older man's hand, trying to take his fingers in deeper.

Unable to hold out any longer, Chris pulled his fingers away, quickly replacing them with his cock, pushing gently into Vin, biting his lip to force himself to go slow, so as not to injure the younger man.

"Harder, Chris, more!" Vin urged, pulling himself up onto his hands and knees to give Chris more leverage to thrust into him.

"Don't want to hurt you Vin," Chris panted, his arms trembling from the effort it took to resist plunging himself all the way into Vin with one swift motion.

"Harder!" Vin growled, pushing back, forcing more of Chris's erection inside of him.

Chris needed no more encouragement, as he began to pound into Vin, sliding himself all of the way into the younger man with a few quick strokes.

"Yesssss," Vin groaned with ecstasy as Chris penetrated him fully, rubbing up against his prostate gland.

Chris grasped Vin's cock firmly, wrapping his hand around the hot length, stroking it in time with his powerful thrusts into Vin's body.

Vin shivered and moaned as Chris molded his body tightly against Vin's, holding the younger man still to bury his thick shaft into the younger man one last time. He uttered a guttural cry as his hot seed expelled, driving deep inside Vin, his hand spasmodically gripping Vin's erection, the motion causing the Vin to begin his climax, his sperm shooting out, the heated fluid overflowing Chris's hand, to land onto the bedclothes, tangled beneath them.

Seconds later, both men collapsed, still entwined, hearts hammering, breath coming in gasps.

"So, am I staying behind until Sunday?" Vin asked with a small chuckle.

Chris laughed lightly, snuggling Vin even closer against his chest. "Well, you sure do make one hell of an argument for keeping you here with me, Tanner, that's for damn sure," he said, kissing Vin's hair as it curled around his cheek.

"Glad you noticed," Vin answered back with a grin, that quickly turned into a yawn.

"Come on," Chris said reluctantly, noticing how tired Vin was. "We've got to finish getting you packed."

"You mean I ain't staying?" Vin asked.

"No, sorry Vin," Chris said. "You deserve the time off, so enjoy it. Have fun with the guys." He stared hard at Vin for a second. "Plus, don't you think it'll look funny if you stay behind? Somebody is bound to get suspicious about us."

"You think somebody knows?" Vin asked in a panic.

"No Vin, don't worry, I'm sure no one suspects a thing," Chris reassured, cursing himself silently for making Vin worry. Chris didn't care who on Team Seven knew about his and Vin's relationship, but the younger man was very concerned, and didn't want the rest of the team to know what was going on. So Chris had agreed to keep things quiet. When Vin had moved out to the ranch a few months ago, they had concocted a cover story, that Vin lived there to help Chris care for the horses. So far, everyone seemed to buy the story.

"Okay Chris, you win," Vin said. "I just need to throw in a few more pairs of shorts, and I'm done."

"Don't forget the suntan lotion," Chris said with a smile, as he tossed the bottle into Vin's waiting hands.

"Think we'd better stock up," Vin said slyly. "This bottle's almost gone."

+ + + + + + +

"Vin, you got everything?" Chris asked as Vin headed to the Ram with his luggage.

"Yeah, and if I forget anything, I can always call you, right?" Vin said.

"I don't see how you've forgotten anything Vin, you've got a suitcase and a duffel bag. What all did you shove in there this morning? Thought you finished packing last night," Chris replied.

"Duffel bag's not even half full Chris," Vin explained, opening the duffel to show Chris the relatively empty inside of the bag. Chris barely heard him, being more interested in the view of Vin's behind, as he bent over in his snug Levi's. "Need lots of space for souvenirs. Might be some interesting things down there in Mexico," Vin added.

"Really?" Chris said, suddenly feeling very aroused as he gazed at Vin's firm backside.

"Yeah, you just never know," Vin said innocently, as he rezipped the duffel and stood up.

"What kind of interesting things?" Chris asked silkily, advancing on Vin, backing him up against the wall.

"Oh, you know, things like this...." Vin said, unbuttoning Chris's shirt and running his long fingers over the smooth flesh.

"What else?" Chris whispered in a strained voice as goosebumps covered his flesh as Vin's touch.

"This," Vin said, leaning forward to cover Chris's mouth with his.

Chris's watch began to beep.

"Shit," the older man cursed, glancing down at the offending object.

"What's that for pard?" Vin asked.

"We've gotta go Vin. Don't want to be late for my meeting, or for you to catch your ride to the airport."

"Chris....let's be late."

"Wish we could cowboy, but we can't." He kissed Vin quickly on the lips, then began to rebutton his shirt. "Come on," he urged.

"All right, all right, I'm right behind you," Vin groused, and the two departed from the ranch.

+ + + + + + +

Forty-five minutes later, they pulled into the ATF parking garage.

"See Chris, still the first ones here, " Vin crowed as he glanced at his watch. "Plenty of time to meet Buck and JD, and you're early for your meeting. Could have had time for a quickie," he leered.

"Don't worry Vin, I'll make it up to you in Cancun," Chris promised, squeezing Vin's knee lightly as he spoke.

"I'll hold you to it, cowboy," Vin said huskily.

The moment ended abruptly as Buck's car bounced noisily into its parking spot, a few spaces down.

"Buck's here," Vin announced unnecessarily.

"Hey guys!" JD greeted, hopping out of the TransAm excitedly.

"How's it going JD?" Vin asked, as he pulled his luggage out of the Ram.

"Great! I can't wait to get going," JD replied.

"Settle down kid!" Buck chided from the driver's seat. "Kid's been going a mile a minute since 5am this morning," Buck complained as he came around to greet Chris and Vin.

"Look at it this way Buck," Chris offered. "He's bound to wear out soon."

"Yeah, you've got a point there, Chris," Buck said, smiling evilly as he glanced at his watch. "With any luck, he'll be asleep as soon as the plane takes off. Then plenty of peace and quiet. And all those pretty flight attendants."

JD rolled his eyes, nudging Vin with his elbow, as the two youngest members of the team stowed Vin's luggage in the backseat of the TransAm.

"Buck, I left my portable CD player in the office, and I wanna take it on the trip," JD called out. "I'm gonna go up and get it."

"Okay kid," Buck answered back..

"And I'll get some coffee brewing for us," Vin added. "We can take a couple cups with us for the road."

"Sounds good to me pard," Buck replied. "Just go easy on me will ya, and for once actually follow the directions on how much coffee to put in." As he walked to follow Vin and JD into the elevator, Chris surprised him by grabbing his arm, holding him back.

"Why don't you two go on up," Chris said to Vin and JD. "Buck and I'll be up in a minute."

"Sure thing Chris," Vin said, shrugging at JD as the elevators doors shut.

"What's up Chris?" Buck asked curiously.

"Buck, I....I was wondering.....I wanted to ask you..." Chris stammered, staring down at the floor, suddenly feeling very foolish.

"Chris, what's going on? You, at a loss for words? Never thought I'd see the day," Buck tried to joke, wanting to put Chris at ease, unused to seeing him so flustered.

Chris looked up at him, his gaze burning into Buck, as he worked to recover some of his composure. He would be doing a dangerous thing if he proceeded, but he needed to take the risk. He had a bad feeling about the trip, and he had to know that Vin would be all right, until he was there to look out for him. And, next to Vin, his oldest friend was the one he could depend on the most. "Buck," he began, speaking in his most earnest tone, placing his hand on the mustached man's shoulder for emphasis. "I just wanted to ask you to take care of Vin for me. Watch out for him until I get down to Mexico." He breathed deeply, and swallowed, trying to bring moisture back into his dry throat.

Buck stared back at his oldest friend and nodded wordlessly, moved by Chris's words, and his trust in him. They locked eyes, holding each other's gaze, the message clear. Chris was trusting Buck with his secret, and with the safety of his loved one. And Buck would do his best not to let him down about either one.

"Don't you worry about a thing Chris," Buck said, clearing his throat and blinking back the moisture that appeared in his eyes. "You know Vin's like a little brother to me, just like JD is. Hell, somebody's gotta watch out for that boy, especially when he and JD get together. Mexico might never be the same after those two finish with it." Then he smiled and winked at Chris, reassuring him that their friendship was still intact.

"Thanks Buck, I owe you," Chris said simply, words failing him.

"Just keep that in mind, next time I'm running late to a meeting," Buck laughed.

"Nice try Buck," Chris grinned back as they headed for the elevator.

+ + + + + + +

"How do you drink that sludge?" JD was asking Vin, as Chris and Buck entered the break room.

"Maybe you'll understand when you're older JD," Vin joked, blue eyes sparkling with mirth, as he poured coffee into two travel mugs.

"Ha, ha," JD answered back, accidentally bumping Vin's arm that held the coffee pot, just as the sharpshooter was replacing it on the burner. Hot coffee spilled out, covering the counter top and the floor.

"Sorry Vin!" JD shouted, grabbing paper towels and beginning to clean up the mess.

"See what I mean?" Buck chuckled to Chris. "Can't leave them alone for a second."

"I didn't mean to," JD protested.

"It's all right JD," Vin said, reaching for more paper towels.

"Vin, let JD and me clean this up," Buck cut in. "You get the paperwork from Chris that AD Travis wants us to take down to Cancun. Then we've gotta go."

Chris looked at Buck gratefully, then led Vin to his office.

"What's this about paperwork?" Vin asked, as Chris shut the door behind them.

"Nothing," Chris said. "Just gives me a few minutes to be alone with you."

"Buck knows?" Vin asked worriedly.

"I think he might suspect, but Vin, he won't say anything, I swear. And I don't want to talk about that right now, anyway."

"Well, what do you want to talk about?" Vin asked, still worried about Buck knowing about him and Chris, but somewhat mollified by Chris's reassurance that Buck would keep quiet.

"This," Chris replied, planting a scorching kiss on Vin's mouth, exploring the soft lips with his tongue, urging them to part. Vin moaned, drinking in the taste of his lover's lush mouth and lips. Chris wrapped his arms around Vin, pressing him hard against him.

"Vin, I love you," Chris said, still holding Vin tightly against his body, reluctant to release him.

"I know you do cowboy," Vin replied, feeling Chris's heartbeat mingling with his own. He closed his eyes, wishing they could stay like this forever. "I love you too."

A knock at the door startled them both.

"Vin, we've gotta get going, or we'll miss our flight," Buck announced.

"Vin, be careful down there, okay?" Chris said, giving Vin one last kiss.

"I will, I promise," Vin replied, hugging Chris quickly, then, with one longing look backward at his lover, opened the door and walked out of the office. Chris followed behind.

"Buck, JD, have a great time. See you all tomorrow afternoon," Chris said.

"We will pard, and don't worry about a thing," Buck said, giving Chris a small nod of understanding.

"See you later Chris," JD said, jumping into the elevator.

"Bye Chris," Vin waved, giving his lover a lopsided grin.

Chris forced a smile on his face, waved at the three, then trudged back to his office, wishing more than anything, that he didn't have the damned budget meeting.
