All I Want for Christmas Is...

by Kathy Teresa

This little story just popped into my head today...so I'm passing it on as little Christmas present to you all... Didn't have time to beta it...excuse the mistakes... Disclaimer: The boys ain't mine...I'm just borrowing them for a short story...then I'll give ‘em back almost fixed....well, healing anyway

Warning: A little violence, some bad language, lots of Vin angst..and Chris comfort...and a little of that M/M sex .

Vin had it all planned. It wasn't that he hated the idea of Christmas, it was just that he'd never had one he remembered enjoying. December was a month Vin could definitely do without.

He and Chris had been together now for 6 months. Vin maintained his apartment in Purgatory mostly to keep the gangs at bay, but he had moved all his personal belongings to Chris' ranch three months ago. Vin loved being at the ranch. Chris was a different person there. Very giving and supportive, a wonderful lover and great friend. He had done so many little things to make Vin feel secure and for the first time ever, Vin felt he had a home.

But Vin feared December. It brought only bad memories for him and he found that if he didn't go to parties or get involved in gift giving things..he could almost avoid the Christmas festivities. Most of the time, he rented movies and stayed at home or worked the holiday so someone else could be with their families. Vin had no connections; no family so it had never matter. Except this year.

His first with the Team. In January, Vin will have been a part of the team for an entire year. He had easily taken part in the parties, base ball team games, camping trips etc. the others had planned. But Chris was planning for the entire team plus Ms Nellie and Casey to come to his ranch for Christmas Day. Josiah was filling in for a minister friend on Christmas Eve and everyone had promised to come to the evening service. Vin could feel the panic rising inside him; that waiting for the other shoe to fall feeling he always got in December. He had to act before he got hurt again.

He had purchased his presents months ago. Buck was lusting over a new cellphone with 200 programable telephone numbers, Nathan was getting the new trauma procedures book he wanted, he had come upon a rare edition Bible in Latin for Josiah, the velvet green and tapestry vest for Ezra was wrapped and ready; Vin had pulled a favor from a gun dealer he knew and JD was getting the shoulder holster he wanted that was out of stock in any gun store in Denver...and Chris...well, he had a few special things planned for Chris after Christmas Day, but he

had left him an original pen and ink by Chris' favorite native American artist PENA`. He had left all the presents under the Christmas tree at the ranch. JD and Buck had brought over the tree last weekend and corralled everyone into the tree trimming. Chris had noticed Vin's token participation but didn't force the issue.

Vin had helped Chris do the grocery shopping earlier in the week. Ms. Nettie had given them specific instructions about thawing the turkey and Chris had started that this morning. Chris was committed to a party at his supervisor's house so Vin was going home to tend to the horses and Chris was staying at the office and going to the party from there.

"Stay awake for me? I'll try and slip away early." Chris whispered in Vin's ear as he bent over him laying some reports on his desk. "Oh, and move the turkey to the center rack of the refrigerator, ok?" Chris flicked Vin's ear quickly with his tongue and walked away leaving Vin was a sudden stirring in his groin.

Vin finished with the horses and walked over to give Peso some extra sugar lumps. "Say, old buddy..want to take a trip Christmas? Just you and me. Got the stuff all packed ; some bran mash for you, extra blankets..we'll go to our favorite place. I've been fixing it up making it all warm and safe for us...It'll be a nice way to spend Christmas, don't you think?" Peso blew softly in Vin's hand and nuzzled him for more treats, which Vin provided. Smiling he hugged his horse and locked up the barn before heading up to the house.

Chris was pissed. The party had been an awkward mess. Everyone spent their time, making the rounds and showering praise on others even if praise wasn't due. Chris stayed until it was late enough to not offend anyone and made his goodbyes. Driving back to the ranch, Chris let his mind wander over the things he needed to do in the next two days. Before he knew it, he was driving up the road to his house.

The windows were all dark as he drove up. ‘' Vin must me watching westerns in the den,'‘ Chris mused. Parking the truck, Chris paused to check on the barn, finding the horses all happy and settled for the night. Finding the back door locked, Chris frowned and used his key to enter. The house was silent. No noise coming from the den.

Chris laid his packages down and made his way into the living room. A fire was burning slowly and there was champagne cooling in a bucket. Looking around for Vin, Chris didn't see him. Checking the bedrooms and poolroom, Chris came back to the living room and looked around again.

Noticing something different behind the tree, Chris made his way around back. Approaching the darkened shape, Chris bent closer and saw what it was. Vin was snuggled inside a brand new sleeping bag. It was zipped almost closed with only his sleeping face visible. Grinning, Chris backed away quietly and hurried upstairs to shower.

Fifteen minutes later, Chris was naked except for a towel around his waist. Pouring two bottles of champagne, Chris brought them both to Vin's side and sipped slowly, watching his lover sleep. Vin was such a child when he slept. Chris awoke many mornings to find Vin snuggled closely beside him, protesting any movement by Chris to draw away. A lot of nights, he awoke to Vin crying and moaning, but Vin would deny remembering anything when he awoke. They both knew Vin was lying.

But now seeing him like this, Chris remembered why it was he really loved this man. The beautiful eyes and muscled body was a plus, but it was Vin's soul and heart Chris really loved. He was almost childlike in his approach to anything but his work. Vin was professional and dangerous when needed, but always managed to keep his cool. If Vin had a real temper, Chris had never seen it.

Smiling, Chris sat his drink down and leaned over to kiss Vin full on the lips. He felt Vin's lips open for him and he slipped his tongue inside searching for his lover's tongue. He heard Vin moan and increase the pressure on their lips. "Chris..." Vin whispered. "You finally get home?"

"Looks like just in time, too. Things must be getting really warm inside that bedroll, right here next to the fire. Want me to give ya a little breather?" Chris spoke as he licked Vin's throat and began unzipping the bedroll.

Vin lifted his throat so Chris could work lower on his neck. "It ain't a breather I need Chris. "

Slowly Chris pulled the zipper, revealing more and more of his lover's gorgeous body. He followed his hand with his mouth, sucking and licking Vin as he went. Vin was moaning and trying to get his arms out of the bedroll to touch Chris. "No, no...just lay still. Want to taste you, all of you...don't want to be distracted yet." Giving the zipper a final hard pull, Chris grinned widely as he caught a glimpse of the Vin's groin.

Vin had tied a big red bow around his penis. Semi-erect Vin's "bow" was draping down on his thighs, the ends tickling his groin area. Chris chuckled brightly and holding onto Vin's shaft, leaned forward looking into Vin's eyes. "Run out of shopping malls, there pard?"

Vin reached up and pulled Chris against his chest letting his arms travel down to Chris's waist and pulled the towel away. "Naw, got this one from mail order. Package said it needed batteries, and we're all out. Thought maybe you might have a plan to make it work."

Chris grinned looking at Vin's happy smile. Sitting up he reached for his glass of champagne, he brought it over and rested it on Vin's hard stomach. Licking his lips, he used his hand to dip the end of his penis in the drink. Swirling it around, he looked at Vin with a raised eyebrow.

"Want a little champagne?"

Vin licked his lips, and said. "Reckon I could use a drink."

Chris turned around & moved so that his shaft was above Vin's mouth. Feeling Vin take him slowly into his mouth, Chris began to unwrap the bright ribbon encircling Vin's now engorged shaft. He could feel Vin start to twist and swirl his tongue around his organ, making him harden quickly.

Taking the ribbon in his hands, he lifted up extracting himself from Vin's warm moist mouth. Both men moaned, but Chris turned and covered Vin's mouth again, tonguing him until he as thrusting with his hips.

"Chris..I need more...Give me your penis again..touch me with your hand..I'm so ready..." Vin moaned as he felt Chris slip the broad ribbon underneath Vin and round his waist.

"Turn over Vin. Santa wants to come down your chimney." Chris positioned himself with Vin's buttock in the air.

Scooting so his weight was on his forearms, Vin laughed. "Don't you mean ...Santa wants to come?" Reaching around behind himself, Vin pulled his cheeks apart revealing his hole. "Well, here's the chimney hole. I want my Christmas surprise."

Chris was laughing at Vin's remarks as he rubbed lotion on his hands and hard shaft. He could feel that familiar stirring in his groin and knew he needed to be inside Vin quickly. Rimming Vin's hole with his finger, he reached around and stroked Vin's penis as he eased his first finger inside Vin.

This was what Vin had waited for all evening. This was what he wanted his Christmas' to all be like. "More, Chris..hurry get me ready..I'm so hard it's beginning to hurt.!"

"Easy there, cowboy..don't want to hurt you. Hurting ain't no way to spend Christmas. " A second and a third finger found their way slowly into Vin's ass hole. By the time Chris had found Vin's prostate gland and pushed, Vin was pushing back and forth into Chris' hand.

Chris felt Vin's penis jerk and start to spurt in his hand. Taking his own penis in hand, he placed it at Vin's opening and pushed forward till he felt Vin's rim give way.

"Oh, yes..!! Chris..oh, my...more? Can you? GOD!!! Why can't I ever get enough of you?...ahhh....please?..." Vin was spurting and thrusting back against Chris forcing him deeper. Chris kept up his rhythm on Vin's penis until it softened in his hand. Grunting and shoving, Chris moved his large hard shaft along Vin's insides. He felt his balls draw up and start to shoot his sperm deep inside his lover's body. The liquid eased his penis forward, and he drove to push himself as far inside Vin as he could.

Hearing Vin cry out and his body twist in climax, Chris quickly began to shove his penis in and out in a short quick rhythm. Vin's penis hardened just as quickly and Vin came again softly...moaning and grabbing for Chris' arm. Sensing his lover's need, Chris fell forward his arms wrapped around Vin's waist. He felt himself come again, as he put the full weight of his body behind his penis and shoved again.

"CHRIS...!!! SHIT!!! OH...OH...SO GOOD!!!" Vin felt Chris way up inside him and although it hurt, the pain was almost an intense pleasure. He fell forward with Chris on top of him.

Locked together in their embrace, the two lovers rested, trying to catch their breath, and recover their senses. Fifteen minutes later, Chris raised up off Vin and eased himself out. Cleaning himself and Vin with his towel, Chris lay down beside Vin as Vin turned to face him.

"Merry Christmas, cowboy." Vin leaned tenderly forward and kissed Chris gently on the lips. Dropping his head on Chris' arm he started to close his eyes.

"Hold on there, my friend..I'm too old to sleep naked under this Christmas tree. Let's go to bed. " Chris helped Vin up and naked arm in arm they made their way to Chris' bedroom.

Christmas Eve dawned bright and clear. The storm that had threatened had evidently moved on without any new snow. Chris stretched and smiled. He and Vin had made love twice more during the night and he felt that physically satisfied glow he always felt after a night of love making. Turning in the king sized bed, Chris reached over to stroke Vin's hair. Finding only Vin's pillow, Chris raised his head and looked over at Vin's side of the bed. It was empty. Not surprised since Vin often got up early, Chris made his way to the bathroom to shower, hoping Vin had fixed breakfast.

Vin hadn't fixed breakfast except for the horses. After tending to the barn, Vin had saddled Peso; putting the extra supplies in his large saddle pads. Letting Peso pick his way through the snow, he rode off not looking back at the house.

Chris came down the stairs, wrapped in his terrycloth robe. Expecting to smell breakfast but finding none, Chris frowned pausing to look in the living room as he made his way to the kitchen. A pair of apple turnovers were sitting in a plate on the kitchen table. Coffee was ready to be turned on and orange juice stood in a glass next to the plate. Leaning against the glass was an envelope. Approaching the table, Chris picked it up recognizing Vin's handwriting.

Chris had hired a tutor for Vin. He showed up twice each week. Chris had read of a new approach to teaching people with dyslexia and using his connections had found a teacher both he and Vin liked. Vin had hated the idea at first, but now had improved so much with his reading and writing skills the tutor was planning on only coming twice a month to help Vin maintain the new things he had learned.

Still, writing a letter by hand instead of on the computer, was an effort for Vin. If Vin had taken the time to write the note, Chris knew it was important. Sitting down, he opened the letter and read.

"Chris,

Please don't take this wrong. I love you more than my life. But I have to be away for Christmas. I just can't ...I don't know how..Peso and I are alright. We have gone to a place to be alone. I fixed it up so there is food and stuff. I'll be back after words. Kiss Mr. Nettei fur me...say Marry Chritsmas to the boyes for me. Don't forgat I love you. Sorry abot the speling..Cant re mem ber wat that techer sed rite now..

Vin

Chris let the note fall from his hands. Running upstairs, he dressed quickly and grabbed his coat as he headed for the barn.

Reaching the barn, he did a head count and found Peso gone along with Vin's saddle and saddlebags. "Shit!! Damn, it Vin!" Chris shouted so loud some of the horses spooked and bolted in their stalls. Still cursing, Chris made his way out behind the barn and found Vin's tracks. It was the same way out of the property they always used so Chris knew it would give him no good leads.

Grabbing his cellphone from his jacket pocket, Chris dialed Josiah's number. Before he let it ring more than once, he remembered the Christmas Eve service. Hanging up before Josiah answered, Chris stood alone not knowing what to do.

Making his way back into the house, he picked up the note again and reread it. "His place? He fixed up a place for Peso and himself." Chris searched his mind. He remembered finally Vin talking about an old shack he had found near a pond in one of Chris' upper pastures. Chris didn't use the area, except when the horses needed fresher grass. Making a decision, Chris went to gather warm clothing and boots. He had to find Vin. This Christmas Vin would not be alone. Not if Chris Larabee had anything to do with it.

Vin finished bedding the stall for Peso. The old shack he had found was small, probably an old line shack that had seen better days. Over the last few months Vin had been bringing supplies to make repairs. He didn't have Christmas in mind when he started working, but he knew the guys would find him in his apartment. Knowing he could hide Peso's tracks, Vin hoped he hadn't mentioned the cabin to Chris.

Chris followed Peso's tracks off the main property and after rounding a set of trees, they disappeared. Not surprised, Chris didn't waste any time looking for more, he set his buckskin toward the upper pastures and settled in for a long ride.

Vin sat by the fireplace staring. His first clear memory of Christmas was one in the boy's home. He must have been six or seven. It was just after his mommy had died. He recalled being brought to the home by the social worker. Two days later was Christmas. He remembered the look on the face of the House Mother. She frowned as he grabbed his papers and read them. He could still hear her voice. "Right before Christmas? You bring me a new kid the day before Christmas Eve? What am I supposed to get him for Christmas this late? Well, never mind, there will be something left over. Come here, let me look at you."

He'd gotten a pair of gloves. Trying them on they swallowed his hands. But he kept them anyway. It was a Christmas present. The only one he got. Tired from his ride, Vin brought the sleeping bag and laid it on the Indian rug in front of the fire. Laying down on it he slipped to sleep dreaming of Christmas' past.

Vin was awakened from his nap, by Peso nickering. When another horse answered, Vin got up and went to the window. Coming down the hill, was Chris riding Bucklin. "Damn, Chris! " Vin pushed himself away from the window and flopped down on the sleeping bag again. Turning himself to face the door, he waited.

Chris saw the smoke coming from the shack and saw Peso's head sticking out of the stall front. Bucklin answered Peso's call, and Chris sighed in relief. So Vin had come here. Well, finding him hadn't been that hard. Getting him home might prove another thing.

Finishing with Bucklin, Chris made his way to the door of the shack. Pausing, he knocked and waited. Getting no response after a few minutes, Chris gritted his teeth and pounded on the door. "Vin, look it's cold out here. My feet are freezing. Let me in?" Taking a deep breath to control his temper, Chris waited again.

Vin heard Chris' approach before he knocked. He knew Chris wouldn't go away, but he decided to make him wait a little anyway. After the second knock, Vin moved and opened the door. Not waiting to greet Chris, Vin went back to his place by the fire.

Chris entered and looked around. Vin had the place all warm and set up nicely for a short stay. Sensing Vin's anger, Chris sighed and began taking off his coat and boots. Moving to the edge of the fireplace, he sat down a few feet giving Vin his space. Pulling dry socks from his pocket, he drew them on and sat staring at the fire warming himself.

"You didn't have to come Chris. I'm fine. I wrote that, didn't I?" Vin didn't look at Chris but continued looking at the fire.

"No, I didn't have to come, Vin. I wanted to come. " Chris sat quietly for a long time saying nothing. Content to let Vin take his time.

"I don't know how to do this Chris. " Vin's voice was a whisper. There was a catch in Vin's voice. Looking out of the side of his eye, Chris saw tears gathered on Vin's cheeks.

Moving quietly closer to Vin, Chris reached out with his fingers and wiped the tears away. "Was it always bad?" Setting his hands back down in his lap, he waited for Vin to regain control.

Swallowing, Vin tried to figure out where to begin. "Chris, it ain't about being bad. It just never was, ya know? Last Christmas I spent with anyone was in a juvenile detention center. The family I had been living with..ya, know..foster parents? I came home from school to find my stuff sitting on the porch and the social worker standing with my foster parents arguing. I remember her saying. "Where do you think I'm gonna find a place for him two days before Christmas?" They told her they had relatives coming into town and needed the bed. I just went to the porch and put my school books down and picked up my stuff. I walked to her car and got in the back seat. Pretty soon, she came and got in the car slamming the door. "

Keeping his eyes on the fire, Vin continued. "She was really pissed. She threw her papers in the passenger's seat and turned to look at me. ‘Don't you have any place to go Vin?' I got that funny feeling in my chest like ya can't swallow or something. I just shook my head at her and stared out the window. She started the car and started driving to juvenile court. When we got there she took me to the Induction Center. They left me sitting while she went in and talked to the Admitting Officer. When she came out, she didn't look at me. I knew no one was happy with me. Did ya ever want to just disappear into the floor? Ya know, not be a bother to anyone?"

Chris didn't know what to say. Impulsively he reached over and put his hand on top of Vin's. Expecting Vin to pull away, Chris was relieved when he didn't. Squeezing Vin's hand, he said. "Go on Vin finish it."

"I don't know how to tell you how alone I felt. I mean, I had never been part of a family or anything at Christmas. But it was like I was a "problem" for everyone. I was ruining everyone's Christmas just by being here. Just by breathing air. " Pulling his hand from Chris, Vin tightened his coat around him and tucked his head down. "They weren't supposed to put you in with the general population when you hadn't committed a crime, so you had to go to solitary confinement. They lead me to a cell. Made me take off my clothes and did a strip search. They searched everywhere. Then they gave me an orange jumpsuit; took my things and left. I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas day alone in that cell. Ya didn't get no special meals in solitary. No presents. No carols, no candy...not nothing. "

Vin laid down and curled on his side bringing up his knees as far as could. "It was so lonely Chris. No body cared if I was alive or dead. I was just a body in an orange suit. I've never belonged to anyone. I don't know what I'm supposed to do on Christmas, Chris.. All I know is it makes me feel alone and sad. And I'm tired of feeling alone and sad. So I don't celebrate." Vin raised his head and looked at Chris sitting beside him. "If you can go away from everyone then there is no Christmas... so you don't have to feel bad. That's how you do it. That's how I'm gonna do it this year too, Chris. So please just leave me alone. I'll come back in two days. I promise. "

Chris watched Vin lay his head back down as tears began to fall from his eyes. Reaching inside his pocket, he pulled out a small box. "Then can I at least give you one of your Christmas presents?" Chris placed the box on the rug next to Vin's head.

Vin looked at the box with it's silver and gold ribbon. Reaching out he ran his hand over the edges of the ribbon feeling the silky softness.

"You gonna open it before I go?" Chris held his breath as Vin picked up the box and began opening it slowly.

Sitting up he let the wrappings fall away and sat holding the velvet box. Staring at Chris with a puzzled look, Vin opened the present. Inside was a silver ring. Tiny silver feathers wrapped themselves around a black onyx stone with silver streaks. Vin had mentioned seeing the ring to Chris month's ago. As his eyes filled with tears, he looked at Chris but couldn't talk.

"Check the inside of the ring, Vin."  Chris helped Vin take out the ring and showed him the engraving inside. "VT/CL". Taking the ring from Vin, Chris placed it on Vin's left ring finger. "Now you belong to someone."

Vin stared at the love encircling his finger. Turning his face toward Chris, he felt tears covering his face. Chris leaned over and started kissing them away.

"Do you want to go home now? Or wait till later?"

Returning Chris' kisses with his own, Vin wrapped his arms around Chris and whispered, " Later."
