Vin was being gently restrained. He looked at his wrists and tugged at the bonds holding his arms away from his body knowing that he could break free whenever he chose. He decided to wait and see exactly what she had planned for him.

He felt her mouth slide along the arch of his foot. Her soft hands began stroking his calf, making his toes curl. He smiled as he felt her mouth slide along his skin and her tongue dip into the hollow at the back of his knee. Her hands were stroking his thighs as she crawled along his body, her skin sliding along his. He thrust his hips upward seeking relief from her slow torture but she denied him. Her soft laughter skimmed across his skin causing his body to tighten and grow, skirting that fine edge between pleasure and pain. His muscles quivered as her fingers skimmed along his lower abdomen, teasing him. Vin wasn't sure how much longer he could stand it before he ripped himself free of the silken bonds holding him to the bed and rolled her onto her back, burying himself inside of her.

A fine sheen of sweat covered his body from the effort of holding himself back. He watched in fascination as she licked her lips before pressing them to his chest. Her tongue swirled around his nipples causing him to tug once again on his restraints. Her long blonde hair teased his skin as she raised her laughing green eyes to meet his gaze...

Blonde hair? Green eyes?

Vin's eyes flew open at the thought. His heart was beating rapidly in his chest as if from running a great distance and he looked down at the woman curled in sleep at his side. Inez. Brown hair, brown eyes. It was a dream that's all. He ran his hand over his face. Son of a... Chris would shoot him dead if he knew that Vin had just had a dream about making love to Mary. Hell, Inez would murder him if she knew. He dropped his head back against the pillow and listened to Inez's uneven breathing as if something was disturbing her sleep. He thought about waking her, making love to her to wipe away the memory of his illicit dream.

It was unbearably hot out. Inez stood at the open window of her room. A slight breeze carrying a small relief from the heat. The top of her nightgown was untied and she leaned forward, trying to allow the breeze to caress her skin. She didn't turn when the door closed. She'd been expecting him. Waiting for him.

The large, warm hand sliding around her waist, pressing her back against his hard length had her sighing. His other hand slid under her hair, lifting it from her neck as his mouth replaced it. She tilted her head, giving him freer access to her neck as he nibbled a slow path from her shoulder to the hollow behind her ear, where his tongue darted out to dampen her skin. His hands grasped her shoulders, sliding her nightgown down and baring her breasts. His mouth never stopped torturing her skin as he pushed the gown down and off of her hips. Inez arched against his hands as they cupped her breasts, his thumbs tracing slow circles around her nipples causing them to tighten. She wanted more so reached behind her to grasp at his hips, urging him forward but he continued his slow exploration. His slid his hand down, supporting her abdomen as his knee slid between hers from behind urging her thighs apart. He supported her as he trailed a finger down the center of her body finding its goal. When his finger slipped inside of her, she sighed and arched her hips against his hand while throwing her head back against his shoulder. She felt his warmth leave her as he sat down in the chair by the window. He grasped her hips and turned her towards him, urging her to straddle him. Inez sat as she lifted her hands to his short, tousled blond hair and dreamily stared into his piercing green eyes...

Short, blonde hair? Green eyes?

Madre de Dios, what was she thinking? Inez's eyes flew open and she quickly looked around in panic, capturing Vin's gaze as he had been watching her sleep. Her cheeks flushed as she remembered the powerful feelings of lust inspired by her dream. What would Vin think if he knew she had dreamed of being touched by Chris Larabee? What would her friend Mary think of her? She would never forgive herself.

"Are ya all right, Inez? Bad dream?"

Inez cleared her throat. She wasn't sure she could speak so she nodded her head.

"Must be the night fer dreams. Had one of my own. Want to talk about it?"

When she shook her head, Vin sighed with relief. He leaned forward and whispered against her lips, "Maybe we can make those dreams go away." He slipped his tongue between her willing lips and stroked her. He rolled Inez onto her back and slid he knee between hers, parting her thighs. He could feel her willing heat against his skin.

Inez opened herself to him as her hands grasped his head, keeping her lips pressed to his. When his hands gripped her hips, she surged upward to meet him. They came together with one sure stroke. She wrapped her legs around his waist and lifted her hips to take more of him. Inez stared up into Vin's eyes, his blue eyes.

Vin slid his hands under her, grasping her bottom and grinding her hips against his. He looked into her eyes, her brown eyes, as he continued thrusting against her, into her with long, steady stokes.

Neither one was inclined to release their gaze, holding eye contact as Vin continued to draw them along a path of fulfillment. The contact sent a shiver of intimacy down her spine that she had never experienced before as his eyes burned with an intense blue fire. This was much more than a simple satisfaction of their bodies. She wondered if Vin was feeling it as well but she couldn't ask since words seemed to have deserted her.

Vin stared down at her, wondering if the spiraling heat inside him that was threatening to consume him was also consuming her. He felt her muscles tighten around him as her fingers dug into his shoulders and he increased the pace of his thrusts.

It was a gentle push over the edge into insanity rather than a screaming plunge that sent them both into the abyss. Vin rested his forehead on hers.

Inez found her voice and said with a deep, satisfied sigh, "I much prefer this to my dreams." She watched as the smile came into his eyes before it slid as a lazy grin across his face.

"So do I. So do I."

It was mid-afternoon as Inez stood talking to Mary. The women turned and watched as Vin and Chris walked out of the jail and headed towards them. Inez allowed her eyes to wander from Vin to Chris and her thoughts stole back to the night before. She looked Chris over from the tips of his boots to the top of his hat and waited for the rush of heat that she always felt whenever she looked at Vin. It never came. With a silent sigh of relief, she shook her head at her silliness and shifted her eyes to Vin. He was looking at Chris and laughing, his eyes flashing in amusement at something that Chris had said. The urge to wrap her hands around Vin's suspenders and drag him into the alley, having her way with him hit her hard. She wondered if she might coax him into taking her back to the hot springs where they had spent a wonderful Christmas Eve. She licked her lips and bounced slightly on her toes, she didn't think it would take too much convincing.

Vin was laughing at Chris's story about something that he and Buck had done years ago but he was only partially listening. He had a moment of panic when he realized that Chris was headed directly towards Mary and Inez. He could handle this. No one knew about the dream and as long as he kept his mouth shut, it would stay that way. He looked at Mary. Her long blonde hair was hanging down her back and she was smiling at Inez. He waited to feel some stirring of desire. Something. Anything. Nothing. Mary had seemed to be a very cool woman; at least until you got to know her, then you got to see what a warm and generous heart she really had. She had taken to giving him reading lessons and he was very grateful to her. Not to mention that Chris hadn't minded at all once he'd found out. He wasn't going to jeopardize his friendship with either one by being stupid. He certainly wasn't going to do anything to hurt Inez either. He looked at Inez. She was looking right at him and he watched her tongue dart out to wet her lips. His body went hard in an instant. He wondered how quickly he could get her away from Chris and Mary without being too obvious.

"Afternoon, Inez. Mary." Chris looked sidelong at Vin and then at Inez. He grinned at Mary. Chris wondered how long it would take the two of them to make their excuses for lunch and take off by themselves. He didn't have to wait long.

"I was uh, just thinkin' 'bout goin' on out to Miz Nettie's to check on her. See if she needs anything. Wanna go along, Inez?"

"Oh. But I thought the four of us were going to have lunch in the hotel this afternoon." Mary looked at Inez for confirmation and then turned her puzzled gaze to Chris. Why was the man grinning like a loon?

"Yeah, Vin. I thought you and Inez were going to join Mary and me for lunch," Chris turned his grin towards Vin and slapped him on the back. He decided not to make it easy on him.

"I uh, promised her I'd stop on out."

"Do you have to go right now? Today?"

Vin gave Chris a disgusted look until he realized that Chris was just giving him some grief. He relaxed, shifted his weight and slipped his thumb into his gun belt. "Yeah, I also thought I might stop on out and pick up the leftover supplies y'all left out at the hot springs." Vin grinned as the smile left Chris's face.

Chris looked at Mary as she dropped her head, a warm blush staining her cheeks. "Uh, yeah. That might be a good idea after all. Maybe you should do that."

Chris stepped closer to Mary and never noticed as Vin reached for Inez and headed towards the barn. The tall blonde couple never realized the thoughts of their friends as they walked away.

Vin looked over his shoulder at the pair and shook his head. He hoped the two of them could figure things out as well as he and Inez had. He dismissed the dream from the night before as a passing moment that meant nothing. He grinned as he quickened his step. He couldn't wait to get his hands on Inez.

Inez looked over her shoulder at Chris and Mary. She silently hoped that her friend Mary found the kind of happiness that she had found. She looked at Chris and shook her head slightly. The man was handsome but he didn't inspire the feelings in her that a certain blue eyed, scruffy tracker had. She looked up at Vin and grinned as they passed behind the saloon. She looked around and grabbed the edges of his coat dragging him against her as she sealed her lips to his. Maybe the hot springs could wait.
