Rock and Roll Weekend

by Jan

JD smiled as the others buzzing around checking out Vin and Amy's new home. It needed work and they had planned a work party the coming weekend to get started on it. Bess has suggested they get together tonight and go over the place to see what needed to be done so they could get supplies for the weekend and save time. Bess was wonderful at organizing all kinds of things and they had all learned it was best just to sit back and let her organize. The fact that she was usually right made that decision a no brainer. JD and Kim already had plans for the weekend so couldn't make it but both Vin and Amy assured them that was fine, there would be plenty of other work parties they could help at.

JD blessed the day that Amy came into to their lives, partially because his friend had never been happier than he was with Amy and partially because it was through Amy that he met Kim.

Thinking back to that fateful day JD remembered it clearly. Vin's jeep had been in the shop and Amy loaned him hers to use while his was being repaired with the promise from Vin that he would take her to her nail appointment. Unfortunately for Vin he got stuck in a meeting the day of the appointment so he asked JD if he would take her. JD owed Vin several favors so was happy to be able to help him out. It turned out to good for JD because Kim was doing Amy's nails. Amy just sat there quietly smiling as the two of them talked the through the whole appointment. Kim was a little embarrassed to have ignored Amy while she visited with JD but Amy smiled and told her not to worry about it she was enjoying listening to them talk. A month later when Vin was shot during a bust Chris needed someone to go get Amy. Vin told them she was at her nail appointment and since JD knew where to go he quickly volunteered. Buck offered to go with him and the two of them watch the others load Vin in the ambulance and head for the hospital before going for Amy. JD was thrilled when Kim came with them to the hospital. As soon as they arrived Amy went to Chris and didn't leave his side so Kim turned to JD and offered to help him get drinks for everyone. JD felt bad that Vin's getting shot was good for him but he was enjoying Kim's company so much he pushed the guilt away. He and Kim had been a couple ever since. Vin laughed about it and told JD he was glad something good came from him being shot.

JD was brought out of his memories by the sound of laughter coming from the master bathroom. It also attracted Vin and Chris' attention. As Vin and Chris walked into the room they saw Amy lying in the old oversized claw foot tub saying "I love this tub, it definitely stays."

"Are you sure you wouldn't rather have a shower?" Holly asked.

"The bathroom is huge we can add a shower and still keep the tub with no problem," Amy answered her.

"It a great tub," Vin added with a wink to Amy. "Looks nice and roomy."

Amy laughed and told him "Yep, I can be in this tub and not have either my knees or shoulders have to stick out of the water, we can even both fit it's a keeper."

"Yep, a keeper" Vin added with a smirk reaching out his hand to help Amy get out of the tub.

"Wouldn't be too much effort to add a shower over here," Chris told them pointing over to the corner at the back of the tub. "You could probably share the plumbing that way too."

"You guys should add a shower for two, there's plenty of room" Meg added. Looking over at Vin and Amy she winked "Trust me you'll love it, it's a must have."

Vin laughed "A must have, huh. Something you want to share Meg."

Meg blushed and said "Just trust me you won't regret getting one."

Chris walked up behind Holly and wrapped an arm around her waist "She's right there's plenty of room for it."

"Can we make it one of those walk in showers, with no doors or curtains?" Amy asked excitedly. "I have a friend who has one of those and it's great."

"Yeah, that would fit," Chris told her with a smile.

"And in the walk in area, can we have a place for towels so we don't have to drip on the floor getting to them?" Amy added her excitement at the idea making her bounce slightly.

"No problem," Chris answered with a laugh.

"Cool," Amy replied as she gave Chris a kiss on his cheek before turning back to give Vin a hug.

Chris looked at Vin and said, "Doesn't take much to make her happy, does it."

"Nope," Vin told Chris laughing. Vin wrapped his arms around Amy holding her snuggly against him.

"Why is room so big?" Holly asked.

"Charlie, Mr Henderson, told me there was a bedroom here but his wife wanted a private bath so he knocked out part of the wall and converted it to this great walk-in closet and the bathroom. She was a tub person and he had a shower in the other three bathrooms so he didn't put one in here too" Amy answered resting her head on Vin's shoulder. "I think just adding a walk in shower, built for two, is all we need to change in here."

Bess and Anna had been walking around the master bedroom and then entered the walk-in closet. Bess was busily coming up with plans for the remodel and Anna had offered to write everything down for her. Vin and Amy had decided to give her free rein to look around and make suggestions but they had the final say, it was their home after all. It was an older home so they knew the electric and plumbing needed to be redone but other than that they felt most of the work was cosmetic except for the appliances, most of which needed to be replaced. They also planned to replace the wood fireplaces with gas fireplaces, but would keep the woodstove in the dining room.

The downstairs had four bedrooms and three baths, one in the master bedroom, one near the other three bedrooms and one in the mud room, the living room and dining room could be arranged to be one room or two depending on how they set it up, the large roomy kitchen had plenty of room for a dining area, the back door lead to the combination mud/laundry room. Upstairs the attic had be converted to a common area with shelves for storage and three more bedrooms and another bathroom. One of Vin and Amy's favorite things about the house was the wrap around porch.

"Ezra and Stephanie are here with dinner," Josiah hollered from outside.

It was a nice evening out so they decided to eat on the porch. The couples gravitated toward each other as they sat around eating Chinese. "Mr Henderson included in the furniture in the deal too? That works out great for you guys especially since it's a large house to fill," Buck said as he reached for another eggroll.

"Yep, he and Missus didn't have any kids to leave it to and he said it belonged to the house more than it did to him," Vin answered.

"You guys got an excellent deal, there are some great antiques in there," JD added.

"What would you know about antiques kid," Buck laughed.

"Mr Dunne is quite correct in his assessment Buck," Ezra spoke up defending JD. "I would be delighted to help you price them if you and Amy decide to sell them, Vin."

"Nah, Charlie's right they belong to the house," Vin answered quickly. "'Sides Amy and I promised Charlie we'd have him out to visit once we move in."

"He'd still be living here if his health would let him, nursing his wife when she got sick took a toll on his health too. Part of the reason he gave us such a great deal is because we promised he would always have a spot here to call home and that we would bury him in his family's plot up on the hill next to his wife when the time came," Amy explained.

"If they didn't have kids why so many bedroom, you said he was the one who redid the attic to add the rooms up there," Nathan asked.

"They always wanted a large family so when they didn't have any they took in foster kids and wanted extra rooms so they could take in more," Vin answered.

"From the cards and letters I've found this was a very happy home for them all. None of them are still in the Denver area but all the kids that wrote have wonderful memories of their time here," Amy added thinking to herself too bad all foster families couldn't be as loving. "Charlie told us all of their kids came back for his wife's funeral and each of them took a memento from the house when they left. Several of them offered to take him in but he didn't want to leave Denver. Is there anymore sweet and sour pork?"

"JD, what are you and Kim's plans for this weekend" Holly said as she handed Amy the sweet and sour.

"Kim's cousin is in a rock band performing in San Francisco. He sent Kim some tickets to the show and we decided to make a weekend out it, sightseeing in San Francisco, going to Alcatraz, the Exploratorium, and stuff" JD replied.

"Kid, you don't take beautiful woman to San Francisco and go to Alcatraz," Buck said as he laughed at JD. "San Francisco is a romantic city; you don't have a romantic bone in your body."

"Leave him alone Buck," Chris warned.

"I'm just trying to give him the benefit of my experience," Buck defended himself.

Amy, Holly, and Meg looked at each other and started singing the Mac Davis classic It's Hard to Be Humble.

Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
When you're perfect in every way.
I can't wait to look in the mirror
'cause I get better looking each day
To know me is to love me

"Hey," Buck howled "I'm trying to help the kid."

I must be a hell of a man
O Lord it's hard to be humble
But I'm doing the best that I can.

The others were all laughing so hard they were wiping the tears away. The girls couldn't resist finishing the song.

I used to have a girlfriend
But I guess she just couldn't compete
With all of these love-starved women
Who keep clamoring at my feet.
Well I prob'ly could find me another
But I guess they're all in awe of me.
Who cares, I never get lonesome
'Cause I treasure my own company

Other voices joined the three ladies as they sang the chorus.

Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
When you're perfect in every way.
I can't wait to look in the mirror
'cause I get better looking each day
To know me is to love me
I must be a hell of a man
O Lord it's hard to be humble
But I'm doing the best that I can.

I guess you could say I'm a loner,
A cowboy outlaw tough and proud
I could have lots of friends if I want to
But then I wouldn't stand out from the crowd.
Some folks say that I'm egotistical.
Hell, I don't even know what that means.
I guess it has something to do with the way that I
Fill out my skin-tight blue jeans.

Everyone, except for Buck, join in on the final chorus, singing loud and off key.

Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
When you're perfect in every way.
I can't wait to look in the mirror
'cause I get better looking each day
To know me is to love me
I must be a hell of a man
O Lord it's hard to be humble
But I'm doing the best that I can.
We're doing the best that we can

"Hey, Buck, it's your theme song," JD howled with laughter.

Buck glared at the three ladies, his lip in a pout. "Meg, you too. Amy and Holly I can understand they've been corrupted by Vin and Chris but you're supposed to be on my side."

"Oh, Buck, I'm sorry it was just too perfect," Meg offered trying to stop laughing and the look on his face wasn't helping.

"We're sorry Buck, we knew we could do it to you because you have such a wonderful sense of humor and fun," Amy said as she walked over and wrapped her arms around his right arm and put her head on his shoulder. "Forgive us," she batted her eyes at him, "you know we would never try to hurt or embarrass you."

Buck found himself having a hard time not laughing too but he figured the longer he could hold out the more they would try to make it up to him.

"Oh Buck, we were just defending JD," Holly grabbed his other arm and put her head on that shoulder. "He and Kim are happy, leave them alone."

"You're a great guy Buck but your style doesn't work for everyone," Meg wrapped her arms around his waist. "There's only one Buck Wilmington," she kissed his chin.

"Thank God for that," Josiah said as he wiped the tears way. "I don't think the world could handle two Bucks."

That did it, Buck couldn't hold back anymore and he joined the others in their laughter. "How long have you three been planning that?" he asked.

"About three weeks now," Amy confessed. "We were talking about the song and had to look up the lyrics online, on thing led to another and we thought it would be funny to get you."

"It was a good one," Buck agreed. "I can think of some people to use it on. You still have those lyrics."

Meg nodded knowing that his pout was an act to get them fawn over him. "Oh Lord, ladies, I think we might have created a monster."

The nights still got chilly so they all went back to Chris' ranch for dessert, to make their plans for the renovations, and relax. Amy reached out to stoke Vin's leg and announced "I almost forgot to tell you that Todd Peters called me today. He has three horses he wants me to train for him, so I can start bringing in some money again."

"Great news, sweetie," Vin smiled as he rubbed her back in a gentle massage.

"There's more," Amy added. "He's bringing the horses to me. The barn and corrals and our place are in great shape so I can work with them there, no problem."

"Amy," Vin started.

"Wait, I know aren't comfortable with me alone there but I found someone I want to hire to work with me. I have a really good feeling about him. He said you and Chris knew him. His name is Yosemite and he worked for Charlie. He and his wife, Lilly, have been staying at the old homestead on the far end of the property. Charlie was letting them live there rent free in exchange for being caretakers for the place."

"Yosemite's a good man, I've had him take care of the stock here several times," Chris said.

"Yeah, I know him. He'd be good to have but do you think you can swing his wages just getting started?" Vin asked.

"That's the best part," Amy told them with a huge smile. "He does blacksmithing and shoes horse but needs a little more. We worked out a deal where he and Lilly, keep living in the old homestead rent free, have the use the barn and tools for his other business, and I give him $500 a month. I have a couple other people with horses on waiting lists for me to work with and with Yosemite's help I can take them on too. What do ya think?" Amy's eyes sparkled with excitement.

"Sounds like a great plan darlin', when does he start" Vin said as he pulled her against his chest.

"I'm supposed to call him tomorrow and let him know if you agreed to our plan. Neither one of us wanted to make firm plans without talking it over with you first. You and I are partners in this and I won't make any major decisions without your input," Amy leaned back a little to look him in the eye wanting Vin to know that the horse ranch they wanted to establish was as much his as it was hers.

"Go for it, babe" Vin smiled at her. "You and Yosemite have it all worked out great."

"I love you Vin," Amy said softly as she snuggled up against him.

"Love ya too Amy," Vin whispered kissing her forehead.

Awhile later JD was helping Amy take the dishes to the kitchen and he told her "I wanted to let you know your Mom was right."

"Oh yeah, what about" Amy said loading the dishwasher.

"Remember the first time we met, at Casey's wedding?" JD asked. At Amy's nod he continued. "I knew you had to someone really special to Vin for him to bring you to that. Even though Casey and I had decided the spark wasn't there for us except as friends I was feeling down. You told me about how you felt when your high school sweetheart got married, and that your Mom told you to decide if you were sad because you thought you lost the love of your life or it was because he found his special love and you were still looking. You said figuring out it was because he found someone and you were still looking you felt better and were happy for him. She also said not to settle, to hold out for your special love and you would never regret it."

"I remember that," Amy smiled at the memory. "You asked me if I had found my special love yet."

"Yep, you looked over at Vin, your eyes got all soft and you told me yes you had," JD finished the memory.

"Did you find your special love, JD?" Amy asked him as she dried her hands.

"Yes, I did," JD answered her seriously.

Amy reached out and hugged JD whispering in his ear "I'm so happy for you both; you and Kim are great together."

"Thanks, Amy." JD hugged her back. "So are you and Vin, you guys are my role models you know."

"Thank you JD, what a compliment." Amy smiled at him. "We best get back or Vin and Kim will be in here looking for us."

JD laughed and held out his arm to Amy.

Friday night JD and Kim boarded their plane to San Francisco. After about an hour in the air Kim left to go to the restroom. The lights were low and most of the passengers seemed to be sleeping. JD gave her a minute and then followed her waiting outside the door when she opened it. He shushed her and pushed her back into the restroom, locking the door.

"How'd ya like to join the mile high club?" JD asked wiggling his eyebrows at her.

"JD, we live in Denver the mile high city. I think we are already members," Kim said with a laugh.

"C'mon babe, let's live dangerously," JD coaxed as he leaned in to start nibbling her neck. "Just a quickie."

"We better make it quick or someone will catch us," Kim laughed pulling his shirt out of his jeans.

JD reached down and unhooked her jeans and slid them and her panties down her legs. Slightly caressing the skin he was revealing and glad she had worn slip on shoes when she kicked them off and raised her right leg to free it from the material JD had push down.

Kim had her hand in his pants and was stroking his manhood to erection. "Hurry, JD we're going to get caught," Kim pleaded.

They laughed quietly as they tried to find a position in the small bathroom, after trying a couple of different angles JD lifted Kim up and spun around then sat on the closed toilet seat pulling Kim down to straddle him as he impaled her in one quick stroke. "Ride me, Baby," JD whispered as he nibbled on her ear.

A knock on the door made them both freeze. "Are you all right in there?" a voice asked.

"Yes," Kim replied breathlessly, "sorry I'm a nervous flyer. I need a few more minutes."

JD started nibbling on her neck as soon as Kim started to answer the voice at the door. Moving his hips he took one hand off her hip and reaching between them stroked her love button.

"Dammit, JD," Kim moaned, "we're going to get caught."

"Do you want me to stop," JD asked innocently as he increased the pressure with his questing fingers.

"God, no," Kim sighed arching her back. She grabbed his shoulders for balance and began to ride him faster and faster.

JD captured her lips with his to drown out their moans as they both climaxed. Kim collapsed on JD who had his head resting against the back of Kim's head. They both managed to recover quickly and were giggling quietly as they helped each other get dressed again in the tight quarters.

The elderly man was surprised when the door to the bathroom opened and the young couple came out. JD winked at him before taking Kim's hand to lead her back to their seats pausing for a minute when they heard the elderly man say, "Welcome to the club, kids."

Kim blushed and managed to say, "Thanks," before she pushed a laughing JD into the seats.

It was late when JD and Kim finally arrived at their hotel room at the Fairmont. JD was still horney from their romp in the airplane bathroom and wanted nothing more than to toss Kim on the bed and have his way with her but he knew if he didn't give them both a few minutes to unpack first Kim would be upset with him. The last thing he wanted this weekend was an upset Kim.

Kim was very grateful they had packed light; all she really wanted was JD in bed but knew if they didn't unpack first she would regret it in the morning. She finished putting the last of her toiletries in the bathroom and walked back into the bedroom when JD grabbed her and dropped her on the bed. "Are we done unpacking now so we can get to what we both want?" JD growled seductively.

Kim laughed saying, "Oh yeah, that little taste on the plane just made me hungry for more."

JD bit softly on her bottom lip, licking her lips in a teasing way until he hear Kim's moan. He told that as a signal to slide his tongue into her mouth as their lips finally met. The kiss ignited them both instantly as both tongues mated wildly.

When JD pulled back from the kiss Kim was surprised to find herself totally nude and her clothes scattered around the bed. Kim arched as JD licked and sucked his way to her breasts. They both knew her breasts weren't overly large but they were incredibly sensitive to JD's attentions. One or two tugs at her nipples and JD had Kim withering under him while she pulled off his clothes wanted this time to feel his bare skin against her.

JD reached between them to stroke her pleasure point delighting in the moisture he found. Kim decided JD was taking too long so she wrapped her legs around his hips, rocking against him Kim reached down to guide JD's rigid shaft into her. "Take me, JD," Kim begged, "take me where only you can."

Riding the wave together they stroked, kissed, and roared out their mutual pleasure able to express it fully, unlike on the airplane when they needed to keep it under control.

Crashing down on the other side, JD rolled on his back holding Kim firmly against him with her head nestled on his shoulder. JD pulled the blankets over their bodies and whispered in Kim's ear, "I love you Kim."

"I love you too JD," Kim replied sleepily.

The next morning they showered together and ordered room service for breakfast. JD had their day planned out but wisely showed it all to Kim for her approval rather than insisting they follow his plan. Kim was thrilled he wanted her opinion and told him truthfully his plans were wonderful.

Close to their hotel they were able to catch a cable car to ride over to Fisherman's Wharf and board the boat to Alcatraz. When they got back they wandered hand in hand around Fisherman's Wharf eating some fresh crab and french bread. Over at Pier 39 JD bought Kim a heart shaped locked with a cable car on the heart and a music box from the San Francisco Music Box company. Leaving the wharf they rode the cable car to Chinatown where they got little gifts for all the others. Heading back to the Fairmont they decided to order room service again for dinner and enjoy their privacy before dressing to go to the show.

They were having a great time at the show; the band was performing at a nightclub near the Fairmont. They were able to dance and sing along with the band. The band on a break when JD felt Kim's hand on his leg sliding higher and higher until she cupped his bulge, which was growing steadily.

Kim leaned over and licked JD's neck before she whispered in his ear, "Let's go back to the Fairmont, what I really want we can't do here."

Not trusting his voice JD dropped some money on their table before grabbing Kim's hand to lead her out of the nightclub and back to their room. Kim laughed at JD's face when another couple and their kids joined them in the elevator; she also had hoped they would be alone. She also echoed his groan of frustration when the couple's children pressed all the buttons forcing them to stop at each floor before they finally arrive on the fourteenth floor. JD practically drug Kim out of the elevator and down the hall to their room. Kim managed to suppress the laugh that bubbled up when JD fumbled with the room key before he got the light to turn green so they could enter.

Once inside clothes flew off each other as they made their way to the bed and pleasure.

Sunday they checked out of the hotel and got into their rental car to start their driving tour today. They drove down Lombard Street first then headed to Coit Tower where they enjoyed the view of the city and their brunch of fresh bagels and milk. Their next stop was the Exploratorium, Kim laughed at JD's exciting at playing with all the gadgets. Reluctantly they headed to their car to go to the airport.

JD stopped in a secluded place and wrapped his arms around Kim. Looking into her eyes JD said softly, "Kim, you are the best. I love you so much and I want us to be together all the time." JD saw she was going to say something but stopped her with a kiss. "I know you aren't ready for marriage yet, and truthfully I don't think I am either. Mrs Mathews, she lives two doors down from me and Buck, is moving in with her daughter. I talked to the landlord and if we want it her apartment is ours. Move in with me Kim, let me wake up each morning next to you so I can start my day with sunshine."

The tears streamed down her cheeks Kim nodded and whispered, "I'd love that JD, almost as much as I love you." Kim reached up to seal it with a kiss.

The kiss was deepening when JD pulled back and rested his forehead against hers saying, "Damn early check-in, we have to go to the airport. Good thing Mrs Mathews is moving this Wednesday, I can't wait to start our new life together."

"Me too," Kim agreed. "How soon can we move in?"

"The landlord wants a week to have the apartment cleaned, Mrs Mathews' daughter is paying for it, and so a little over a week from now we'll be living in our apartment." JD whooped and swung Kim around several times making them both laugh.

"I love you JD," Kim told him when got settled in their seats on the airplane.

"I love you Kim," JD replied pulling up the armrest between them so they could cuddle up together on the flight home to their new life.

The End
