“Are you ready?” Vin asked Amy as he grabbed her overnight bag. “Just lean on me babe, no walker on this trip.”

Amy had fallen in early December and broke her right leg. She just got the cast off and was wearing an ankle brace. Her Doctor told Amy to take it easy on the right leg so she was using a walker that a friend loaner her to get around. Chris had insisted just like the rest of the team she should stay at his ranch to recover, after all in his mind dating Vin since April made her part of the family too. Plus all the others had met the ladies they were currently dating through Amy, which made her a special favorite to them all. An added bonus was Vin stayed there with her so for the past few months Chris wasn’t worried about Vin being in his apartment in Purgatorio.

“Let’s go,” Amy said as she wrapped her arm around his waist feeling secure in his grasp. She had no idea what he had planned. He had told her it was the surprise he had wanted to do around Christmas and now that her cast was off it was time. Trusting him completely she knew whatever he had set up would be very special.

As they slowly walked out the front door, Chris and JD were waiting with two horses. Chris took the bag from Vin and put it on the pack horse. “I didn’t think your leg was up to riding solo just yet so thought we could ride double” Vin explained.

Smiling up at him with a gleam in her eyes she said “You always have the best ideas.”

Vin lifted her up in the saddle and then mounted in front of her. He took the lead rope for the pack horse from JD and they all said “Goodbye” as they rode off toward the mountains.

Amy snuggled up against his back as they rode along, resting her head on his shoulder. Soon she was letting her hands roam freely on his chest and started nipping at his neck. If it hadn’t been so chilly out she would have unsnapped his shirt to caress bare skin but the weather made her think twice about that and be content with caressing his firm muscles through the layers of clothes separating them. He sighed when she lowered one hand to cup his crotch. “Not fair” Vin moaned as Amy laughed but keeping up her gentle stroking.

After a few hours they rode into a small meadow with a cabin nestled cozily among the trees, a small barn was next to it, nearby there was a steaming pool, and stream. “What do ya think?” Vin asked as he pulled the horses to a stop.

“Vin, it’s perfect. I love it, please tell me this is the surprise” Amy said hugged him and kissed his cheek.

“Yep, found it one day on a ride this summer. It’s a trapper’s cabin; it was in pretty good shape but still needed some work. It was November before I got it everything squared away on it” Vin answered her, clicking to the horse to finish the ride to the cabin.

“Why did you and the others keep this a secret, I would have helped work on it with you” Amy said looking forward to seeing everything up close.

“The others don’t know about it” Vin said. “You’re the first person I’ve brought here.”

“You put in all this work on someone else’s cabin” Amy asked.

“Nope, it’s mine. Got the deed and everything, all legal like” Vin told her as he stopped the horses and jumped down. Reach up to help her down he noticed the tears in her eyes. “Hey, you’re supposed to be happy not cry.”

“I am happy” she hugged and kissed him “I’m so honored you wanted to share this with me first and you know me I cry at the drop of a hat.”

“I did for you so we’d have a place to be alone” Vin hugged her tightly rubbing his hands up her back. “C’mon and sit on the porch while I get the horses taken care of then I’ll give you a tour.”

He worked quickly bringing the supplies and their bags into the cabin and putting the horses in the barn. Pulling her to her feet Vin wrapped an arm around her and showed her the outside. Amy was thrilled to find the steaming pool was actually a natural hot springs, Vin promised they would be using it before the day was over. “At least once” he whispered with an evil grin that made Amy laugh. The cabin was small, just one room but it was very cozy with a large bed, a table and chairs, a stove to cook on with some shelves and a large fireplace. Vin helped Amy into one of the chairs and built a fire then unpacked their supplies. “How about we eat and then go use the hot springs?” Vin asked after he had put everything away except for a basket with their lunch.

As they were eating Amy said “It’s wonderful here Vin, I’m so honored you shared it with me. I know you value your privacy and keeping it a secret would give you some space from everyone. Do you really think we can keep it a secret from the others?”

“Probably not, I know Chris suspects something and I don’t know how much longer I can keep him off the scent. Especially once the weather gets nice and we spend more time here.”

“More time here alone, that sounds magnificent” Amy sighed. “I’ve missed being alone with you.”

“Hold that thought” Vin smiled at her as he cleaned up from lunch. He lifted her up and carried her to the bed; setting her down he removed her shoes and brace, then his own boots. Pushing her back on the bed her climbed next to her and kissed her passionately. Amy felt him removing her clothes shifting to kiss her body as he bared it to his gaze. Her hands caressed him and pulled at his clothes to remove any barriers between them. They were both breathing heavily, their eyes dark with passion, by the time they were both naked.

Amy was shocked when Vin pulled away and stood up “Don’t stop” she pleaded.

He scooped her up in his arms and whispered “Time for the hot spring darlin’.” Then carried her outside and stepped into the warm water.

“Not fair” Amy moaned repeating his words from the ride up.

“Oh, so you can dish it out you just can’t take it” Vin laughed. His hands started roaming her body again as his lips nipped at her neck. “I promise it’ll be good babe.”

“Ummm, the best” she sighed melting against him as he took her nipple in his mouth and began to suckle, he knew how much she loved to have her breasts played with. Her hands weren’t idle for long; she loved to touch and stroke the hard planes of his body, feeling him reacting to her touch.

His mouth moved to her other breast as one hand stroked down to cup her and slide a finger between her folds. He could feel her heart racing and hear the whimpers and moans and moved his finger in and out of her moist warmth. He had wanted to keep it slow but felt himself losing control when she wrapped her hand around his shaft and started her own gentle stroking. Pulling her over to straddle his hips he entered her body quickly and was pleased to hear her moan “Oh God, yes.”

They clung to each other as their breathing and hearts slowly returned to normal. Amy lifted her head off his shoulder and smiling at him said “WOW! There’s something wicked about making love out in nature during the day.”

“Promised you it would good” Vin smiled back at her. Since their experience had left them both a little wiped out they stayed in the hot springs floating around and talking softly.

Vin knew he needed to get back in the cabin and check the fire so reluctantly stood and helped Amy out of the spring. He had a large towel on the branch of a nearby tree that he wrapped around them both. Once back in the cabin he sat Amy in a chair and stoked the fire back to life. He grabbed another towel and towel dried her long natural curly hair before he used it on his own hair.

She started to reach for her clothes and he pulled then away for her. “We don’t need clothes today” Vin smiled as his eyes roamed her body. “I like you just the way you are.”

“Damn, sweetie. You make me wet just by looking at me” Amy sighed.

Laughing Vin led her back to the bed and whispered “We’ll just have to see what we can do about that.”

Much later, their bodies entwined they sleep peacefully. Vin woke first and carefully pulled away to add more wood to the fire. Turning back to the bed he noticed he had woke her when he left the bed. “Sorry, didn’t mean to wake ya.”

Amy stretched and sighed “I always sleep better in your arms.” He smiled and walked back to the bed. “I don’t think I can find the words to let you know how much this surprise has meant to me. I’m feeling a lot more confident about dancing at the Valentine party next Saturday night; I was worried I would be too much trouble for everyone.”

“Never” he grabbed her hand and pulled her up. “Let’s try to dance now.”

“Now, but…” Amy paused when he stepped away and turned on the portable CD player he brought. Coming back he pulled her close and started to slow dance to Garth singing The Dance. Amy relaxed against him and said “I thought the hot springs was wicked. Dancing naked, this tops that feeling. Too bad we need to wear clothes Saturday.”

Vin laughed “We can do this back in our room you know.”

“Anytime, darlin’, anytime.” Amy sighed.

The song ended and Vin kept her close but pulled his head back to gaze in her eyes. He started singing softly to her with the next song, George Strait’s I Cross My Heart.

“Oh Vin, I love you so much. I didn’t understand what people meant by a soul mate until you. It sounds corny but it’s true, you complete me.” Amy held his gaze as he read the honesty in her eyes through the tears.

He kissed her deeply then whispered in her ear “I love you too, Amy.” He was wiping the tears from her cheeks “That song said it perfect for me.”

Soon dancing was the farthest thing from either of their minds as Vin carried her back to the bed.

The next morning Vin came back from feeding the horses as Amy was just about finished cleaning up from breakfast. Hearing the rustle of clothes behind her, Amy reach up to put the last of the dishes away on the shelf. She used the hand pump to rinse out the sink and was impressed at the work Vin had done to restore it to perfect working condition. Vin admired the view of her backside as she was focused on cleaning up. He walked up and wrapped his arms around her naked body and nibbled on the side of her neck.

“Dang Vin, you’re cold” she gasped chilled by his cold bare skin on her warm skin.

“Um” Vin murmured “so warm me up.”

Turning in his arms she wrapped her arms around his neck and smiling said “My pleasure” as she kissed him passionately.

“C’mon babe” Vin said leading her toward the door.

“Hon, you know it’s winter right and we’re naked” Amy said nervously.

Vin just smiled at her as he pulled her out the door. He nodded his head towards the hot springs and wiggled his eyebrows at her.

All apprehensiveness gone, Amy smiled nodding in agreement.

The warm water felt like heaven as they soaked enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Vin snuggled up against her putting his arm around her waist to hold her tight. Amy stroked her hand gently on his thigh saying “It’s heaven here, I’m not sure I want to go back.”

“That can be arranged” Vin kissed her ear. “We better at least move back in the cabin.”

Once back inside they dried off and Vin added more wood to the fire before he pulled the towel from her his eyes roaming her body. “If we stay do I get to put clothes back on or is this a nudist cabin” Amy laughed.

“Can’t help that I love to look at you” he replied. “’Sides no one around so we might as well enjoy it while we can.”

“I’ve been enjoying looking at you too” she said honestly then joked “and that’s sweet of you to say that but wouldn’t you rather be one of those petite little things that look good in everything.”

“Hey, you’re perfect” Vin grabbed her chin to make her look at him. “I’d rather be with you and your soft curves than any petite little thing.”

Amy knew he was telling her the truth, the love and affection shined in his eyes. “I’m sorry, it was just a joke” she said quietly. At his grunt she added “Okay, a bad one but really I was just kidding.” This time she grabbed his chin “I know you love me and want you to know how very important you are to me, sometimes I feel like you’re a wonderful dream that I don’t ever want to wake up from. When you look at me I feel so very cherished and special.”

“That’s ‘cause ya are special, very special to me.” Vin said as he pulled her to him for a deep kiss. “Stupid joke” he kissed her again.

“I know” Amy said running her tongue along his jaw. “Will you let me make it up to you” she nibbled on his ear.

“Wouldn’t be right not to give you a chance to make it up to me” he said leaning his head back to give her better access to his neck and chest. Amy backed him up to the bed and falling onto it she kissed her way down to his nipples licking and sucking one hard bud before moving to the other side. Vin moaned as she went lower to take his shaft in her warm mouth. Caressing hands roamed freely and she worked her way slowly back up his body to his mouth. Vin flipped her onto her back and moaned “My turn.” He lowered his head to her breasts worshipping them with his lips, and then lower spreading her legs he licked then fastened his talented mouth on her love button. She moaned arching off the bed while she stroked his hair but kept his head in place. They ate, slept, and made love again enjoying just being together. Deep regret was in his voice as Vin told her “If we want to get back before dark we best get moving” as they woke from a nap wrapped in each others arms.

Sighing she snuggled tighter against him “Yep, we should.”

He slapped her behind and said “C’mon darlin’, I don’t want to go back either but the others will worry if we aren’t back by dark.”

“Hey” she moaned then with a devilish gleam she crawled across his body instead of getting out on her side, rubbing against him blatantly. “Do I get my clothes back now?” she asked innocently.

“Yep” he moaned “remember payback’s a bitch.” He winked as he jumped out of bed and tossed her bag to her.

Vin got the horses ready as Amy made the bed with clean sheets and packed up the cabin. It didn’t take long because they left everything that wasn’t perishable for future trips. She check around to make sure they had everything impressed with the cozy cabin. Vin had even built an enclosed walkway that led to the outhouse so they didn’t need to go outside in the cold to use the facilities. In the walkway he had a bathtub large enough for two, a hand pump for water, a stove to heat the water, a spot to stack wood for the cabin, and door that led outside to the woodpile for easy access.

Despite his best effort it was almost dark when they got back to Chris’ ranch. By the time they got the horse and supplies put away it was dark. When they walked into the house JD asked “What have you guys been doing, thought you were coming back earlier.”

Vin and Amy just smiled at each other but Buck slapped his shoulder saying “You don’t ask people stuff like that.”

“Have fun” Chris asked with a knowing smirk.

“Yep” Vin answered.

“You’re walking better” Nathan noticed “I was worried you would overdo without your walker.”

“Vin took excellent care of me Nathan, he took care of my every need” Amy said winking at Vin who blushed slightly.

“Kim and Meg said to tell you 10 am on Saturday would be good for them, they want to do your hair and nails for the Valentine’s Party” JD told Amy.

“They don’t have any other appointments on Saturday morning” Amy asked knowing that the small beauty parlor Kim and Meg ran was a busy one.

“Nope, they cleared the morning for you” JD said. “Want me to take you” he offered.

“Now JD, you don’t want to hang around a beauty parlor all morning and Kim will be busy, I’ll take her” Buck offer.

“Buck, you know dang good and well that’s how Kim and JD met was his taking me to a nail appointment” Amy admonished. She wasn’t really into all the beauty stuff, hardly ever wearing makeup and just letting her hair air-dry, but did like her nails to look nice so went once a month for acrylics. This worked out nice for JD and Buck since that’s how they met Kim and Meg who they were now dating.

“Yeah, Buck. Besides it’s my turn to take her you took her last time” JD said hitting Buck with a pillow from the couch. Soon the two were in an all out pillow fight with the others laughing.

Vin hugged her from behind and whispered “Back to normal.”
