Betrayal, Punishment and Love

It went to hell so fast that later on they would be hard pressed to know exactly what went wrong.

The bust had been going smooth then one of Leary’s men took a good look at Ezra and recognized him from his time with the FBI.

During the free for all that followed Ez took a shot to the shoulder. As Buck left cover to pull the undercover agent to safety one of the bodyguards took aim at the big man.

Vin who had the high ground in the warehouse had to leave his safe spot and expose himself to danger to save his lover.

The ATF sharpshooter got his man but one of the other gunmen took aim and Vin tumbled off the high walkway.

Buck screamed as his life started falling to his death. Thankfully the safely harness held and Vin was jerked to a stop before he hit the concrete.

Josiah killed the man who had shot at Vin putting an end to the firefight.

It was a good thing because Buck was dashing across the warehouse intent only on getting to his lover.

Nathan grabbed Buck and stopped him.

“Buck, Josiah and JD will go up and slowly lower him down. You and I will wait here and get him. Calm down.”

Buck slowly got his breathing under control as his two friends dashed up the stairs. Soon he had Vin cradled in his arms. Nathan knelt down and checked the young sharpshooter over. He had to work around Buck who refused to relinquish the precious package in his arms.

Sighing in relief Nathan looked up at the men surrounding them. Ezra had refused to go with the EMT’s until he knew how Vin was.

“The bullet grazed his head. It’s not even deep. The fall and subsequent sudden stop didn’t help. I would imagine he had a concussion and will have one hell of a headache.”

Buck hugged the slim body closer. Vin was going to be okay, Buck had never been so scared in his life.

Nathan seeing Ezra sway despite the grip Chris had around his lover’s waist jumped up.

Motioning for the EMT’s he ordered, “Ezra get your ass in that ambulance, Vin will be in the second one. Chris goes with Ez and Buck you go with Vin. The rest of us will clean up here and meet you at the hospital.”

Chris looked Nathan in surprise. It wasn’t often that Nathan took over. But he had to admit, Nathan was right. Neither he nor Buck would be much good until they knew that their lovers were safe and sound.

Chris and Buck smiled in relief and followed behind the stretchers.

Several hours later Ez and Vin when they were awake were already complaining about leaving the hospital. They were like kids being confined inside on a summer day. The hospital was for sick people and they were not sick.

Chris arranged for the two men to be in the same room. He had planted himself by his lover’s bed and like Buck refused to move. When Ez left tomorrow morning then Chris would leave, Buck was doing the same thing with Vin.

Josiah, Nathan and JD had stopped by and once they were assured that their friends would be fine they had headed to the office to start the paperwork.

“Today was to damn close, Chris. I felt my heart stop when he fell. Damn fool what the hell was he doing leaving cover like that?”

“He was doing his job and protecting his team. We’ve seen him do it before and only when he couldn’t do anything else.”

“I don’t care. He needs to stay behind cover and I plan on telling him that when he’s awake enough to remember what I’m saying. I can’t lose him,” Buck said looking down where his hand gripped his lover's.

“You won’t lose me, Bucklin. I couldn’t let you get shot. I’m supposed to watch your backs, all of you,” a soft drawl came from the bed.

Buck looked up to see blue eyes staring at him. They were clear and focused. The concussion was a minor one, but Vin would be sore where the harness had dug into his body stopping his fall. A bandage covered the bullet graze.

“Not at the risk of your life,” Buck hissed all his fear rising like bile in his mouth.

“I’m the sharpshooter and I will…” Vin’s comment was cut off with a hiss as his lover stood up and grabbed him by the upper arms.

Buck shook the slender body, his anger and terror taking over his common sense.

“Don’t fucking tell me this bullshit. You are the most important thing in my life and I will be damned before I let you die. You are more important to me than my own life. If I have to I’ll beat some sense in you and lock you safely in a room at home.”

Vin gasped as his head was snapped back and forth by the shaking. The headache that had been better now came back with a vengeance.

Chris was suddenly there pulling Buck away.

“Let him GO, Buck. He doesn’t need this now. You’re hurting him.”

Buck let go realizing what he was doing. He took a step away from the bed afraid to get to close…he might hurt the vulnerable man he loved.

Vin stared right at him, the blue eyes reading him like a book. He held out his hand despite the pounding in his head.

“Come here, Bucklin. I need you close.”

With a sob Buck sat on the bed leaning against the pillows. He pulled the smaller man into his arms and held on tight. Carefully he rocked back and forth apologies and promises being whispered to the injured man.

Vin rested his head on the broad shoulder and patted Buck's stomach.

“It’ll be fine, lover. I’m fine.”

Chris went back to sit by Ezra who had slept through the commotion. Chris was worried. It was not like Buck to lose it like that. Of course, this was the first time Vin had been injured since the two had become lovers; reality had a way of upsetting everyone. The ATF leader resolved to keep an eye on his friends, but he had every confidence Vin would be able to manage his over protective lover.

 + + + + + + +

Finally Friday rolled around and it wasn’t to soon for Team 7. Ezra and Vin were getting along great. Although Ezra used his injury as much as he could to get out of paperwork, Chris wasn’t buying it.

Ez couldn’t complain about all the tender loving care he was getting at home from his blond heated lover.

Vin was going crazy, Buck was a bigger mother hen than Nathan and Chris combined. Hell if he could Buck would follow him into the bathroom. It wasn’t as if he hadn’t tried. The death look Vin had given him had stopped him in the bathroom doorway.

Buck tried to explain it to his irritated lover. Vin could have died, for a few minutes Buck had actually thought Vin did die. Life was to short and they were in a very dangerous profession. Vin’s position was filled with more danger than Buck's. The sharpshooter had to scale high places, place himself at risk to protect everyone else and the bottom line was Vin was more important to Buck than anyone else. His young lover was more important than Buck’s own life.

Vin’s mouth had dropped at this little speech but no matter what he said Buck refused to listen to reason. Finally Vin gave up, the big guy hopefully would start to relax and things could go back to the way they were. If they didn’t he was seriously thinking about shooting his lover and burying the body somewhere out in the woods.

Buck’s behavior did change but not for the better. He would alternate hovering over his lover to times he would ignore him. It was like he was distancing himself from Vin.

It all came to a head that evening at the local bar the guys liked to frequent after work on Friday’s. In a way that no one could predict.

Buck, JD, Josiah and Nathan had gone ahead to grab their usual table. Chris was running late with a meeting and Ez was helping Vin finish up a report. Even though Vin had control of his dyslexia there were times he needed some assistance and Ez was happy to help out. About an hour and a half later the three men strolled into the bar. Heading straight for their table Chris was the first to see the looks of shock and disgust on JD, Nathan and Josiah’s faces. Ez was right behind his lover and after seeing Buck’s antics immediately turned to stop Vin from approaching…to give Chris time to figure out what the hell was going on and what to do about it.

The undercover agent was to slow. Vin had seen the looks on his friend’s faces and stepped closer. When he saw his lover his heart stuttered to a stop and his world crashed around him.

Buck was sitting on a chair that was pushed back from the table. From the bottles sitting on the table he had already had two or three beers. Not near enough to use the liquor as an excuse for his behavior. Buck had a woman in his arms, a very gorgeous blonde. She was all over him. With one hand she was running fingers through her hair while the other one had unbuttoned his shirt and was stroking the strong chest.

Buck was laughing and had his hands resting on the blonde’s waist.

Vin heard his lover say, “Now Darlin’ you know I’m not that easy.”

That was right before the blond laid claim to Buck's lips and to Vin it didn’t look like Buck fought to hard to get away. At that moment Buck looked over her shoulder and saw Vin standing there staring at him.

It was like time stopped. Vin’s blue eyes nailed him on the spot. They were filled with anger, betrayal, hurt and embarrassment. Without saying a word Vin turned on his heel and headed out of the bar.

Buck watched as Chris and Ezra followed his lover. He was trying to untangle himself from Candy’s embrace without just shoving her on the floor, finally that was what he did, but it was too late. Vin was gone.

Chris and Ezra came back to the table their faces like thunderclouds. As Buck tried to get around them to catch Vin, Chris grabbed his arm and shoved him back into the chair.

Giving the blond temptress the Larabee glare he sent her running to a new guy.

“What the fuck did you think you were doing with that bitch?” Larabee snarled his green eyes shooting sparks.

His old friend's language took Buck aback. It wasn’t like Chris to call a woman a name especially one he didn’t know.

“Candy is not a bitch, Chris. She has been overseas for the last year and was happy to see me. She didn’t know I was in a committed relationship. Now if you don’t mind I need to talk to Vin,” Buck replied.

“Mr. Tanner is gone. He went home, obviously distraught and heartbroken,” Ez said scathingly.

“I gotta go and talk to him, make him understand. She doesn’t mean anything to me, I just didn’t know how to tell her that….” Buck trailed off what he was about to say.

“You didn’t know how to tell her you were living with and in love with a man,” Josiah filled in the blank.

Buck hung his head ashamed.

“Yeah, but I was going to…”

“Was that before or after she swallowed your tongue,” Chris snapped.

“Or was that after you broke Vin’s heart,” Nathan commented.

“Shut the fuck up, all of you. I wasn’t going to screw her. I love Vin. I just…hell I don’t know I guess for just a few minutes it was like old times. She was a safe bet…she has an office job…probably won’t die on the job. Vin almost getting killed…guess it shook me up more than I thought. I…oh fuck I gotta go. I have to talk to him, I can’t lose him.”

Buck stood up he looked around the table at his friends.

“I want to apologize to you all for that display with Candy. I should have stopped it and I didn’t. I just hope I can explain it to Vin.”

“If I were you, I’d grovel a lot,” JD commented his hazel eyes filled with worry for his two friends.

“Even that might not be enough, I’d take my punishment like a man,” Ezra said. His green eyes told Buck plenty. If Buck wanted Vin back he would have to do it on Vin’s terms and take whatever the younger man wanted to dish out no matter what it might be.

“I’ll do whatever I need to. My life is worthless without him.”

As Buck started to walk off, Chris said, “I’ll drive you, Buck. Vin took the jeep and a cab is too expensive. Ez drove today so we have two vehicles.”

Chris and his lover exchanged a long look and then the blond was gone.

The four men left talked amongst themselves. They were worried about their friends and still pissed about Buck’s behavior. Hopefully, by the time Sunday rolled around and they all met at Chris and Ezra’s for an afternoon of football and food everything would be settled.

Meanwhile Chris was giving his old friend an earful.

Buck just sat there and listened letting the words flow in one ear and out the other. He could not get the look in Vin’s eyes out of his mind. The one person in the whole world who loved him unconditionally, who he loved with all the fiber of his being, was hurt and suffering and it was his entire fault.

Finally they pulled up in front of the house. The house was dark, but the jeep was in the driveway so they knew Vin was home.

As Buck went to get out of the SUV, Chris patted him on the shoulder.

“It’ll be okay, Buck. Just go in there and explain everything. Then do whatever you need to. Like JD said grovel, beg his forgiveness whatever it takes. You guys are made for each other. Don’t lose that.”

“I don’t intend to. We’ll see you Sunday, Chris.”

Chris watched until Buck was in the house then he headed home hoping like hell Ez was already there. He could sure use some hot and heavy loving right now to block out the knowledge of what his two friends were going through.

Buck hesitated in the hallway then hurried to their bedroom. He paused in the doorway then turned on the light. No Vin.

Maybe Vin was in the spare bedroom not intending to share a bed with his lover. Buck could understand that, but he wasn’t going to let it happen.

Flipping on the light he saw a suitcase on top of the bed. It was open and he could see some of Vin’s clothes already in it. Absolute total fear consumed him. Vin was leaving him.

Buck gripped the door so tight it was a wonder that the door didn’t splinter in his hand. Then he straightened up as his resolve set in. There was no way in hell he was letting Vin go. Fuck his pride and his insecurities, nothing was more important than his lover.

Buck strode back down the hall and entered the family room. He turned on the light and there was his lover. Vin was sitting there in the dark. The vivid blue eyes rose to look at him, but the younger man never said a word.

Buck crossed the room and knelt down next to the chair.

The older man felt his heart break as he looked into his lover's face. His lover had been crying, the blue eyes were red rimmed. Vin was gripping the arms of the chair so tightly that Buck was surprised there weren’t holes in the leather.

Vin finally said just one word, “WHY!”

Buck bowed his head in shame. He had brought this proud stubborn man to this point and he had to fix it.

Clearing his voice Buck tried to put his hand over Vin’s fist. He flinched as Vin jerked back from him not allowing the touch.

“Don’t touch me, you smell like her. I want a fucking explanation before I make my decision on my future,” Vin hissed the blue eyes flashing with anger.

Buck swallowed his mouth suddenly dry. He realized that his entire future with this gorgeous gentle man was hanging in the balance. He needed to convince Vin that the woman meant nothing, he needed to convince his lover that the turmoil he had been in all week just seemed to come to a head in the bar. Not because he wanted to get by with anything, but that it was the TRUTH.

Buck sat on the edge of the sofa. He tried to straighten his thoughts out, he only had one shot and he had to make it count. Staring down at his clasped hands he began to talk.

“When you got shot Vin, it brought all my fears and insecurities out. Hell, things that I never even thought bothered me because they were just reality suddenly seemed to be hammering at my brain. I could lose you, yeah I knew that before but seeing you fall brought it all to a head. The one person who meant everything who was my world could die. I spent my whole life not letting people get close. Sure I had plenty of sex but no long-term relationships. I had fun but never let anyone get close until Chris and then his family. Then Sarah and Adam died, I resolved that loving someone was to damn painful. Hell I got all over Chris about turning away from people and I did the same damn thing. I just covered it by becoming everyone’s buddy, the guy women loved, and the guy who had someone different in his bed every night and who bragged about it. Then you burst on the scene. You never realized it but not only did you pull Chris out his self-imposed shell you pulled me out to. Sure JD was there but he was so young. You just knocked down all the walls and showed me that caring didn’t have to hurt. I knew that we were only going to be friends, but you were like a shining bright light showing me that relationships didn’t have to hurt and to truly live you needed them.”

Here Buck paused and glanced up at his lover. Vin was staring at him. The younger man was obviously listening very closely and processing everything that was being said.

“Then the day of the elevator getting stuck arrived. Do you know that when you were running to catch the elevator all I could think of was that I had never seen anyone as gorgeous as you. Then we got stuck and you panicked. All I could think of was protecting you, getting you calmed down. That first kiss, love…it was the most awesome kiss I had ever had. You tasted like ambrosia. It didn’t last long, just long enough to tilt my world. It was all I could do not to take you on the damned floor. But I knew that you were more than a one-night stand… you were forever. I knew then that I was never going to let you go. I had finally come home and home was called Vin Tanner.”

Licking his lips Buck was a little nervous that Vin had not said anything. The blue eyes never left his face and his lover was allowing no emotion to show.

“Then you got shot and you fell. I died as I watched you fall to what I thought was to your death. It hit me; you could die just like Sarah and Adam. You could leave me and I would have to go on without you. That was unacceptable; your life is so precious to the team and me. I can’t lose you, I can’t live without you. This last week I felt so lost. I wanted to protect you then I wanted to push you away. If I could put some distance between us then it wouldn’t hurt so much if you died. That was bullshit of course but I wasn’t thinking clearly. Then tonight I swear Vin I never saw Candy until she was right in front of me. I pushed the chair back to stand up and greet her. She was an old friend, but like all the others nothing was ever serious. Then she sat down and things just got out of hand and I let it. I didn’t know how to tell her I was committed to someone…that I was with a man. My fucking pride stepped in. Then for a brief moment I thought she was safe, wouldn’t die on the job, I wouldn’t be hurt so much because she wasn’t you. I NEVER initiated the contact, but I didn’t push her away either. I never kissed her back. I fucked up Vin, I fucked up so bad and I have no one to blame but myself. When I looked up and saw you standing there, I hated myself and I still do. I hurt you and you are totally innocent of any wrongdoing. I let things go this week until they overwhelmed me. I should have sat down and talked it out with you. I didn’t because after all men don’t talk about real emotional things. I hope you can forgive me. If not I understand and I’ll leave. This is your home and I don’t want you to leave, I will.”

Buck was about ready to drop to his knees and beg his lover to forgive him when Vin finally spoke.

“You hurt me, Buck. You hurt me so bad. I walk into the bar and there you are with some woman sprawled all over you, rubbing her fingers through your hair and her hand down your shirt. I felt like someone had hit with a baseball bat. I thought I knew you, thought that we had the same goals in life. Yes you should have talked to me; I didn’t know you were so upset. When you didn’t say anything I figured you were working through it. I guess we both have more of a communication problem that we thought. I sure didn’t know you were embarrassed at having a male lover. Sure we have to be careful at work, but this was at a bar. Are you always going to duck the issue every time one of your former bedmates show up? This has been building all week, Buck. This was just the straw that broke the camels back.”

Buck whispered, “No, Vin. I’m proud of you, it was me. I just didn’t know how to tell her. It will never happen again. I promise. I will always remember the look on your face. What can I do to make it up to you, show you I mean everything I said.”

Vin stared right at Buck as he said, “If you mean that then I’ll make damn sure you never forget this night. I think you have some punishment coming and I’m the one to give it to you. If you truly mean it, then take a shower and get her stink off you. Don’t put on any clothes, just wait for me. We’ll see if you put your ass on the line or not.”

Buck caught his breath. He remembered Ezra saying that he needed to take his punishment like a man. The undercover agent knew what was going to happen and had subtlety warned him. Well he would take whatever Vin dished out as long as it ended with him in bed with his lover.

Buck stood up.

“I’ll be waiting, baby.”

Buck left the room and soon Vin heard the shower go on. He knew what he was going to do. This was for Buck as much as it was for him.

Buck was going to get his ass blistered. Then after the paddling the subject would be done with. The punishment would have been administered and they could go on. However, he was planning on teaching Buck a few lessons during the spanking, lessons that he better remember.

The shower ended. Vin waited another ten minutes, giving his lover time to worry and agitate over what was going to happen. Then Vin stood up, he went and took his own long leisurely shower and then put on a pair of sweatpants. This was not about seduction or playtime. Vin knew his lover. Buck was feeling so guilty that he would worry and brood about it for weeks. This would solve that. A spanking then the transgression was forgotten and forgiven by them both.

Vin walked into the bedroom and found his lover naked standing in the middle of the room. Buck looked apprehensive, but resigned to his punishment. In fact as Vin looked at him he saw relief in the blue eyes as though a great weight had been lifted off his shoulders.

“Turn around and put your hands on the mattress. Take two steps back from the bed, I want you bent over at the waist, waiting for your punishment,” Vin said calmly.

Buck gulped but turned and did what he lover ordered.

Vin pulled a paddle out of the drawer. He was not going to use the belt that would hurt too much. Buck was not used to this. While Vin got off on the pain\pleasure, Buck did not. Rough sex, yes, but Buck did not crave the pain level that Vin did.

“Now, Buck, listen carefully. You are going to tell me why you are being spanked while I am paddling that nice looking butt. Got it?”

“Yeah, I got it, babe.”

Without any warning Vin swung. The sound echoed around the room. Buck yelped and jumped. Two more slaps quickly followed.

“I’m waiting, Buck.”

“Ah…I let another person touch me…shit fuck, Vin not so hard,” Buck moaned.

“Not enough, Buck, hurry up.”

“I…ah hovered over you all week….and…ah…irritated you all week.”

Buck jerked as several slaps hit hard on the meaty part of his ass.

“You haven’t got to the two things that were really wrong, Buck,” Vin hissed.

Frantically Buck searched his brain. Suddenly it hit him what was really bugging his lover.

“I didn’t tell her I was committed to someone.”

“That’s one thing, now what is the last thing or should I say the first thing you said or did that was so wrong.”

Buck was trying to think. His fucking ass was burning, how the hell did Vin get off on this. All he knew was that he would never piss his gentle lover off again.

Then he thought. What would bother his sweetheart? Something that would hurt others, not himself. Buck sighed, he got it.

“I said your life was more important than mine. That I couldn’t go on without you,” Buck whispered his voice catching on a sob.

Vin stopped immediately. Buck had got it. The stubborn bastard had finally got it.

Dropping the paddle on the floor Vin stepped closer to his lover. He suddenly found himself wrapped up in strong arms, Buck gripping him so tight it was hard to breath. Vin hugged the big man close as silent tears ran down both their faces.

“I am so sorry, lover. I had no right to lay that on you. Make you second-guess everything knowing that if you died I’d soon follow. Then you walk in and see…see me with a woman sprawled all over me. I am so sorry. Can you forgive me,” Buck whispered. He had his face buried in Vin’s hair.

Vin patted the heaving back.

“It’s forgiven Bucklin. Just remember that you are just as important to me as I am to you. If I ever see anyone putting the moves on you again I will pull toss them on the floor by their hair then beat you. Understand?”

Buck laughed.

“I understand. Besides I already did that. She wouldn’t get off my lap so I could go after you so I just stood up and she slid to the floor. She wasn’t real happy about that. Vin…I,”

Vin reared back and put his finger over Buck's mouth.

“Unless you have something new to say, this subject is closed. I forgive you and you have to forgive yourself. Tomorrow we can talk about our insecurities and what else is bothering us. But as far as this goes, it’s over. Okay?”

Buck felt relief flood him. Vin forgave him; it was going to be okay.

“Okay. Baby, do you…will you make love to me?”

“Bucklin, you’re going to be sore and…”

“I don’t care. I want to feel you in me, moving and claiming me. Please Vin.”

Vin smiled and nodded his head.

The younger man got Buck on the bed and on his stomach.

For the next several minutes he drove the older man crazy. Licking at the red ass he delved between the cheeks and suckled at the puckered entrance until Buck was whimpering into the pillow.

“On your knees,” Vin instructed.

Once on his knees Buck felt the tongue back at his ass. Just when he thought he couldn’t handle it anymore, Vin stopped.

Feeling cool fingers replace the tongue Buck tried to relax. Vin’s fingers slipped inside massaging the tight muscle, working it until he could get three fingers inside.

Finally he lubed up his cock and slowly inched his way inside until he filled his lover's ass.

Buck moaned as the feeling. He loved this and didn’t get it nearly often enough. That needed to change. Vin loved to bottom, but he was determined that his lover would top more than he had been.

Vin set up a smooth deep thrust smiling as Buck shoved back meeting his thrusts.

Reaching underneath he grasped the hard wet shaft and slowly stroked in time with his thrusts.

A guttural scream erupted out of Buck's mouth as he came, Vin following as Buck's ass milked him dry.

As they collapsed to the bed, Vin started to move to get something to clean them up, but Buck stopped him.

“Stay here, just spoon up behind me and let’s sleep. I don’t want you going anywhere.”

Buck curled up on his side and sighed as he felt Vin nestle in behind him. Vin’s soft cock slipped out of his lover’s body, but was still resting against his lover’s ass.

Vin slipped one leg between Buck's longer more muscular legs. One arm curled around the bigger man's waist. Vin felt his hand lifted and a kiss planted in the palm.

“I love you so much, Vin,” Buck whispered.

“I love you to, Bucklin,” Vin replied.

There was no more talking. Hell they had talked more tonight than they had for the last week. Tomorrow was the times for heart to heart talk. They both had some insecurities to work out, things they had kept close, not wanting to worry the other one. Sighing as one, they fell asleep. What had started out as a real lousy week had ended up with souls being bared and things looking better? The future looked bright and hopefully smooth sailing ahead.

The End

Circle Has Been Completed

P.S. This is my first domestic discipline story. I hope I got it right. This was written for all those folks who said Buck needed to be spanked.
