The Tie That Binds

by Jean

This is the first story in a series called Home Fires

Main Character(s): Vin & OFC – the rest of the seven

Disclaimer: I do not own Vin or the boys, the other characters are original from my imagination and anyone is welcome to use them. There are Real Life Native Americans mentioned in this fiction.

Notes: For the purpose of this story I am placing this time period around the mid-1870's. The information on the Native Americans comes in part from 'The American West' by Dee Brown and in part from my imagination. Some of the traditions are general and my not be specific to the Comanche. My Native American heritage is mixed via my grandparents, and although many of our family belong to the tribe, I am not an expert on the history of the vast and varied tribes of the old west. I have nothing but respect for a people that in my eyes still stands tall against the winds of change.

Acknowledgements: Thanks to Sunni for her support and encouragement on my writing and her teamwork on 'our story's'. You are so gifted! Thanks again to Sunni for her BETA skills. Poem by Jean

I know it's not easy
This life that we lead
Death day by day
Makes a man's soul bleed

Landscape painted with tears
Eyes that can cry no more
Life and death abounds
But in the end the Eagle soars

The late summer sun was bright in the afternoon as Chris and Buck stepped out of the jail and onto the dusty boardwalk. They were stopped on their way to the saloon by a shout from JD. Both men turning to see the young man hurrying toward them from the alleyway along side of Gem's Hotel, where Vin kept his old wagon stationed.

‘Chris, Buck! Hold up.’ JD ran with hand on top of his hat to hold it in place as he hurried toward the other men.

Buck leaned one hip on the hitching post and had a big smile plastered on his face as he watched the younger man. 'One of these days I'm gonna get that boy a new hat.'

Chris didn't comment as he struck a match and lit his smoke, cupping the flame to keep the light wind from blowing it out. Impatience at the interruption was clearly written on his face and he silently wished the boy would put the hurry on so he could get over to the Saloon for a drink.

JD came up to the other two men just as Ezra joined them. He explained that he'd been looking for Vin and thought he saw someone lurking around the tracker's wagon. The first thought on everyone's mind was Bounty Hunters and getting to Vin before he walked in blind.

'JD, Buck you go find Vin. Ezra.' Chris moved off toward the alley expecting the other man to follow.

Ezra stepped into rhythm with the blond leader, 'Mr. Larabee, might we be jumping to conclusions here. Though it is true that Mr. Tanner remains a wanted man, is it prudent to be seeing shadows where none may be?'

Chris didn't try to follow what the gambler said as he walked his mind on who might be snooping around the tracker's wagon and why they were there.

Ezra just shrugged his shoulders knowing that when the gunman got something in his head there would be no stopping him, so he followed along keeping a lookout for anything out of the ordinary.

<<<<<Mag7>>>>>

Vin came into town from doing rounds at the outlying farms and homesteads, checking to see that everyone and everything was all right. He'd spent most of the day out at Nettie's putting wire back up around the chicken coop. He loved eggs but couldn't stand the critters - they being too messy and too loud for the quiet man.

He came in at the North Side of town just in time to catch site of JD and Buck riding hell bent for leather out the other end of town. Knowing that something must be wrong and since he didn't know what it might be, he turned back and came around the backside of town so he wouldn’t be seen.

<<<<<Mag7>>>>>

Chris and Ezra came around the corner and then ducked back when they saw what looked to be a smaller version of Vin peeking into the back of the tracker's wagon.

Chris grinned at the puzzled look on the gambler's face and shook his head when the other man mouthed 'two of them?' he motioned for Ezra to move to the other side of the alley to cover him as he approached.

Before they could move the figure left the wagon and ducked around the back of Gem's.

'Well what do you make of that Mr. Larabee? Do my eyes deceive me?' Ezra smiled at the black clad man, 'Mr. Tanner is unique to say the least and I can not fathom there possibly being two of him.'

Chris just grinned at the man 'Come on we'd better find Vin.'

'By all means Mr. Larabee, I do believe it would be interesting to see if he has a younger sibling.'

<<<<<Mag7>>>>>

JD and Buck headed back to town after finding out from Casey and Mz. Nettie that Vin had already come and gone.

'Buck?' JD asked to get the other man's attention as he pulled up along side.

'Yep' The lady's man looked over from where he was resting in a lazy slouch on the back of his faithful gray mare.

'Think Vin'll ever get this bounty off his head?' After the last episode of bounty hunters after Vin, JD was starting to worry about the other man more and more.

'Well, JD can't say as I know the answer to that. Man's sure got a load of problems an’ no way to prove he ain't a killer.'

'Yea, Chris done took care of that.' JD said without thinking.

Buck sat up straight and looked at his younger friend. 'Vin'd be dead Kid an’ you know it, weren't for Chris.'

JD nodded his head and kicked his horse into moving faster.

Buck grabbed his rains up against his chest and urged the gray on. He overtook JD and came back into town just moments ahead. He went to the jail where he saw four of the other peacekeepers sitting and standing around and noticed right off that Vin was not with them.

'Anything?' Chris asked when the men had dismounted.

Buck shrugged his shoulders, 'Nope. He ain't out to Nettie's an’ we sure didn't come across him on the way in.'

Before anything else could be said Josiah got their attention 'Would ya look at that.'

They all turned to see a short man with his hat pulled low so the face could not be seen, he was sporting a jacket that was a lot like their trackers and the most noticeable difference was the moccasins that adorned his feet. He was leading a small paint pony with a blanket and no saddle.

They watched as he headed right toward them and then noticed that he had no visible weapons, so he'd either removed them or just didn't wear any.

'Now that's a mite peculiar.' Said quietly by the big lady's man as he straightened away from the wall of the jail and moved out so as to give the other men plenty of reach for their weapons, just in case.

Sabina kept her head down as she moved through town headed toward the Sheriffs offices hoping that they could tell her were to find Vin. After a stop in Eagle Bend she knew that he was one of the seven peacekeepers in a town called Four Corners, located a days ride Northwest of the Rio Grande but far south of Santa Fe. She’d also heard that he kept an old wagon in town that he used when the weather was to bad for him to sleep out under the stars.

She smiled as she thought about him and then a frown graced her face as she thought about what she left. After the Comanche were pushed to the reservation and things became so bad, she had a visit from Bear who told her of Vin and what he knew. Bear had brought tales of several of the white children that had grown and left for one reason or another, but she always listened closely when Bear spoke of Vin. The blue eyed Comanche who she loved as a child and was coming to love as a woman up until he left.

She thought of him now, knowing that he was the only one that could help her find her place in the world. A white man by birth but Comanche raised, he moved between both worlds. Bear took her as far as the New Mexico/Texas Boarder and would go no further. He would only say that he could not and giving no reason why.

As she approached the men in front of the jail she coughed to try to bring a roughness to her voice and brought her pony up close to her.

'Any of you gents know where I might find Vin Tanner?' Sabina kept her head low as she spoke.

Ezra and Buck both looked shocked and the other wondered at it for a moment before Chris's words broke the silence.

'Who'd be wantin' to know?' He had his hand on the butt of his gun and took a step toward the man and then felt the restraining hand of Buck who just shook his head at him.

Sabina didn't know how to answer without confirming that she was a female and then might as well have saved herself the trouble when the fancy dressed gentleman spoke.

'Well miss, we would like to ascertain the nature of your business with our associate prior to disclosing his location.'

Her head came up to look into the eyes of the man who spoke. Obviously he knew she was not what she seemed and although he spoke fancy she understood that they were not going to tell her where Vin was until she told them whom she was.

Rejected by the whites because she wanted to stay with the People and unable to stay with them because she was white. She did not answer the question, not being of a trustful nature due to what she had seen of their kind. She would go outside town and wait until Vin came in or went out and hopefully find him that way.

<<<<<Mag7>>>>>

Vin moved around the back side of town, eyes constantly moving trying to sense if there was danger before heading in. He was off Peso's back and had passed the backside of the saloon when he looked down the alley and across to the jail where he was relieved to see all the boys.

He was at the mouth of the alley before he spotted the buckskin jacket and the Indian paint. He stepped out leading Peso and saw Chris's head come up and eyes turned toward him in warning, he was about to turn back into the alley when he caught a brief glimpse of the face of the woman in buckskin.

He lost his breath as years were tore away from him and he was once again the orphan who ran away from the foundling home in Texas. Bear, a trapper who roamed the plains and trapped along the rivers where game was still in abundance, had found him. He was a big man but a gentle one and a true friend to the Native Tribes. He'd asked Vin if he had a home and getting his answer in a negative shake of the shaggy head, he'd taken him with him to the Comanche village located in the Red River Valley.

Vin had seen Bear on and off until the trouble with Eli Joe and the bounty, and then he'd moved father into New Mexico where he knew Bear would not travel.

He shook his head to clear it of those visions and was crossing to her before he could put a clear thought to it.

Sabina turned to mount her pony when she saw him. He was long and lean and still wearing the colors of the people but for the red shirt under his buckskin coat. She could not see his expression but knew underneath the slouched hat was eyes the color of the sky on a stormy day.

The other six men stood at the ready, watching Tanner's body language and that of the women to see if she posed a threat to him.

Vin moved up to stand in front of her and reached to pull off her hat, wanting to know if her hair was still the color of corn silk.

Before she could stop him her hat came off and one long tangled braid cam falling down her back to rest well below her waist. She closed her eyes as he palmed her check and caressed her skin. Vin breathed out one word that could be heard by the other's 'Bina' and then she was in his arms as he wrapped them around her in a powerful hug.

She held on until he pulled back and even then still gripped his coat, unconsciously keeping him from leaving her.

The other men listened as words were spoken back and forth that only the two of them understood. Josiah enlightening them that it was an Indian dialect.

When a crowd started to gather, Chris stepped up to Vin and placed a hand on his back. 'Better take it inside.'

That being said Vin looked around at the people that were stopped and staring in open interest at their quiet peacekeeper and the beautiful blond who was almost in his arms in the middle of the street.

He turned and introduced the men to her calling each by name and introduced her as Sabina. Vin then took her into the sheriff's office where, to her dismay, all his friends followed as well. Since Vin didn't seem to think anything of it, she didn't either, sensing the trust that ran between them.

'What's happened?' Vin asked knowing that she should be at Fort Sill or on the reservation with the tribe and not here in this dusty town seeking him out.

Sabina began to speak and told of how General Sheridan ordered the arrest of Big Tree and White Bear. She told of how White Bear was imprisoned again for something he could not have done but the white leaders would not listen. Big Tree was still on the run but the white chiefs were tracking him with other Indians, so he had little hope of evading capture.

The men sat around listening to her tell of the last couple of years and of the hardships that the Kiowa and Comanche faced.

'Vin, Quanah surrendered to the white chiefs and even now they are moving more and more of the people to the land they have set aside north of the Red River, but they want them close to Fort Sill where the soldiers are lodged.' She had tears in her eyes when she spoke.

The tracker was hunkered down in front of her with his head bent as he listened to her.

Sabina reached out to him and grasped the sleeve of his jacket; 'I could not stay.' She saw him nod his understanding to her.

JD was fighting his curiosity and couldn't hold back the questions any more.

'Did they rescue you?' and he felt the full weight of Buck as he leaned against him in an effort to get him to be quiet.

Sabina and Vin both jerked around to look at JD and seemed to remember in that moment that they had an audience.

Vin decided to ignore JD's questions knowing that the boy didn't ask out of malice but with a true desire to understand. 'Later Kid,' was his only response.

'Bina, come on an' I'll get ya somethin' ta eat.' He pulled her up by her elbow and headed toward the door.

The other men heard him asking her about a place to sleep as they went through the door and none of them mistook the answer she gave. 'Wherever you sleep.'

<<<<<Mag7>>>>>

Vin stood outside the bathhouse, both guarding and waiting for Sabina to come out. The other men had kept their distance from the two of them during dinner and he'd went to the saloon and asked Inez if she had an extra room, that being the only one he could afford.

He stood out here processing all that she'd told him. He'd left when he was sixteen to follow the fading buffalo herds, a restlessness abiding in him that he could not shake. He ended up fighting in the war in hopes of protecting Texas and in turn the People that had tried to be a family to him.

Never feeling like he belonged in either world and having a bone-deep understanding of what Sabina was feeling now.

She too had been 'found' and she either could not or would not remember the details of her prior life. He'd left them almost ten years ago; she had been on the verge of womanhood and already bloomed with the promise of all that she would become. His friend Stalking-Horse had already gathered several horses to offer for her and Vin had smiled until he realized that she had not spoken of him. That could only mean one thing; the dead were not spoken of by name after their passing as many of the Indians having their spiritual reasons for this belief.

He turned as the door came open to bathe her in moonlight, shadows cast until she stepped out to stand in front of him. He studied her, from the crown of her golden hair that now fell in a damp cascade down her back, to the doeskin dress and moccasins that he knew would reach her knees.

Every bit as fine a woman as he'd ever seen. All he could do was smile at her as he offered his arm and headed toward the saloon to get her settled in the room above.

Vin took Sabina in the back way so she wouldn't have to go through all the men still in the saloon. Vin got her settled in the room and told her to lock the door and not let anyone in unless it was him. He had rounds to do and would see her later or in the morning.

<<<<<Mag7>>>>>

Vin came back into the saloon after making the rounds and checking on the town, he saw Chris and Buck together at a back table and headed over with a mug of beer. He nodded to Ezra who was engaged in a hand of cards with two of the men from the Circle K Ranch and winning, judging by the big smile on his face.

The three of them sat in silence, Buck quietly scanning the saloon and smiling every once in a while. It made Vin wonder why the big man was here instead of Digger Dave's where the salon girls could be found.

Nathan and Josiah ambled in after a bit and sat down, each with a mug of beer to slake their thirst.

The quiet companionship was broken by the approach of JD, 'Hey fellas' he hollered as he approached taking a chair from a near by table and dragging it over with his foot.

'Town seems real quiet.' JD looked around the men at the table and then moved over as Ezra came to take a seat.

Chris looked up at the gambler, 'Done won all their money?'

With a big smile Ezra sat down, 'That is correct, Mr. Larabee and one can only hope that more of their friends come to grace this fine establishment.'

'Yer full of shit Ezra, fleecin' those poor fools.' Buck slapped the conman on the back showing his words were said in jest.

Vin sat back with long legs stretched out and let their banter flow over him and smiled. Suddenly he felt their attention to him as everything fell quiet. He knew they were curious about Sabina and he understood that, so a man that didn't normally offer up his past let the words come to him.

'She's a good woman boys and I aim to see her settled.' Vin dropped that into the silence and waited, knowing that JD at least would not be able to hold his peace but was surprised that it was Nathan who spoke first.

Nathan was a man who had suffered hurts in the past the same he figured all of them had, but one thing he could not abide was slavery in any form. 'How'd she get ta be with the Indians Vin?' He glanced around to the faces of the other men and saw the same question mirrored in their eyes.

'A trapper named Bear brung her in when she was around nine or so. He'd been trappin on the Canadian and came through Dodge City an’ found her livin on her own. He brung her back with him into Texas along with two other white children.' He offered what he knew to them.

Nathan sat up straighter ready to be offended at the selling of children when the look in Vin's eyes stopped him.

'Nate, the People love all children, weren't nobody bought an’ sold, nobody held that didn't want to be. Bear was a good man who wanted to help those that he saw in need. All the fighten’ with the solders caused the death of many of the People. Women without children or men to warm their lodges.' He closed his eyes as he pictured his own life with them, where he'd felt wanted and safe for the first time since his real ma had died but something always missing in him that would not allow him to settle.

Nathan knew that Vin had spent time with the Kiowa and Comanche tribes on the plains of Texas; he'd learned that from the other man as they tracked Claire Mosley and Chanu. He thought that Vin had been a man already when he was with them and now he wasn't so sure.

Josiah spoke up for the first time breaking the silence that descended as everyone thought about what was just said. 'Vin's right, the Cherokee feel the same about children no matter their race. A gift that should not be wasted.'

Vin nodded his thanks to Josiah and then grinned at JD who he could see almost bouncing in his chair with curiosity. 'Spit it out JD fore it chokes ya.'

'If the Indians love their children then why ain't she still with them.'

They watched as the tracker scraped a hand down his face and took a long swig of his beer before he answered. 'When I left a friend of mine was getting ready to offer for her an’ that was 10 years ago best I can figure.' He left out names. 'She says they been moved to an area around Fort Sill and the white people wanted her back with them but she's a daughter of the tribe. Guess it got to be so she didn't feel right in either place.'

Looks passed around the table knowing that Vin often felt the same himself and now wondering why he'd decided to leave what he clearly considered home and family.

'How old is she Vin? Looks mighty young still yet.' Buck asked.

'I'd been with them for 7 years when I left an she had been there for 3 of those years, so I figure she's around 22 or 23, but don’t rightly know Buck.'

Chris sat silently through all this just watching Vin; although he wouldn't admit it out loud he was just as curious as the rest about the trackers past. Now at least knowing where some of the uncanny skills that Vin'd showed in the past had come from.

A loud whistle was heard from somewhere off to the other side of the bar that brought all their attention round to that direction. Hands moving silently toward guns and knifes without forethought. It soon became apparent what brought it on when they turned to look in the direction everyone else was looking to see Sabina at the top of the stairs.

They watched her descend only when she saw Vin and a smile came to her face as she approached. She wore a simple doeskin dress that came to the floor covering her soft moccasins beneath. Golden hair lose and cascading down around her like a cream waterfall reaching well past her slim hips.

When she approached the table all the men stood as one to offer her the courtesy before Vin pulled a chair over to the table for her to sit.

'Thought I put ya to bed?' he questioned her presence after he clearly explained to her that it would not be a good idea to be in the saloon with a bunch of rowdy men.

Sabina didn't drop her gaze from his as she spoke, 'I was waiting for you but you are taking to long.'

Vin felt his face flush at her words even as some of the boys laughed outright.

'Well Vin looks like the lady here knows what she wants.' Buck dropped into the sudden quiet.

Chris watched his friend and this woman and wondered if she would be the thing that took Vin away from Four Corners and his life here.

Vin just ignored Buck as he stood brining Sabina up with him; he would talk to Bina when they got to her room. In spite of his shy nature, sex was as natural to him as breathing; he just was private about it and was not sure that it was a good idea in this case. The Indians felt is was a gift and the widowed women of the tribe chose the males that they wanted to be with. He'd been taught early in life how to please and be pleasured in a world where life and love was as free flowing as the rivers that surrounded them.

'Vin?' Mary Travis came through the door of the saloon in time to see the tracker headed toward the stairs with a blond woman, her hand in his. She'd heard that a white woman dressed as an Indian had come into town looking for Vin Tanner and her journalist curiosity was peaked. She also wanted to make sure that the woman felt welcome and offer her a place to stay.

Chris stood to intercept Mary when he saw Vin's shoulders go high with tension as his name was called.

'Mary, hold on there a minute.' The blond stepped in front of her hoping to give Vin time to get up the stairs if that was what he wanted to do.

But Vin was also a polite man and respected Mary so he would not ignore her summons. Turning Sabina around in front of him, 's all right Chris.' And watched the gunslinger move from in front of the newspaperwoman.

'Mary I'd like ya to met Sabina, she's a friend of mine.' He felt Sabina stiffen under the hands he had resting on her shoulders. He knew that white women were typically the worst about how they treated other women that they thought were captives but he knew that Mary was not that way. He gave a gentle squeeze and a slight push to move Sabina forward as the other woman spoke.

'I am so happy to met you Sabina.' Mary extended her hand and felt it taken only briefly by the other woman.

Buck gave an elbow to JD and shook his head, 'Man alive ain't they both somethin?' His appreciation for the fairer sex always coming through.

JD just grinned at Buck as he continued to watch his friends and the two ladies'. He just knew this was going to be entertaining.

Sabina made to turn back to Vin when the other woman reached out to her, 'you can stay with me Sabina. Although I'm a bit taller I think I have some stuff that will fit you.' Said with a need to offer help but not understanding the insult that she had given the other woman.

Vin closed his eyes a moment and shook his head. He understood what Mary was trying to do but Bina would not and knew it for certain as she back up against him trying to get him moving toward the stairs.

Sabina came up against the hard wall of an unmovable Vin Tanner, as she looked the other woman over. 'I don't need new clothes and I'm sleeping with Vin, thank you very much.'

Mary turned her bright gaze on Chris with a shocked look at the other woman's words, hoping that he could help her understand what was going on here since she could tell that her offer of help was not being taken in the spirit it was given. She was also shocked that any decent- god -fearing woman would just come out and say something like that in the presence of so many other people.

Vin decided that he was not going to explain himself or Sabina to Mary. He hoped Chris would try as he took the hand of the woman in front of him and tipped his hat to the rest. 'Mary, boys.' And headed up the stairs.

'Mary don't go pokin your nose into Vin's business he don't need it and as far as that woman's concerned, you best understand and remember that she was raised by Comanche and won't take kindly to someone telling her that she needs to dress other than what she is.' He took her by the elbow and turned her toward the batwing doors.

'I'll take ya on home now and tomorrow you can talk to Vin or Sabina but tonight leave them be.' His tone left no room for argument.

'I was just trying to help Chris. I didn't mean to offend her.' Mary said as she walked along with the gunslinger toward the newspaper office.

'I know that and she will too, but give them time Mary. Vin ain't seen her in 'bout ten years so they have a lot to catch up on before we all go stepping in to try to help.'

Mary was startled at that, 'Ten Years? That's a long time Chris.'

'Yep.' Was the only response as he left her on her doorstep and moved back toward the saloon.

<<<<<Mag7>>>>>

They didn't get more than a step into the room when Sabina turned to Vin and watched his face as she reached up to undo the strings that held her dress together at the top. She had every intention of dropping it off her shoulders when his hands covered hers and stopped her.

'Don't' Vin shook his head at her. He understood that her body was all she had to offer for his help and he wouldn't take advantage of that.

'It's what I want Vin.' She moved her hands out from under his and let the heat emitting off his palms to warm her as she stepped up close to him and placed her open palms on his chest. 'I need you.'

With those softly spoken words his resolve was lost. He moved his palms to grip her shoulders and move her up against his body. 'Bina' He breathed out her name on a sigh as his lips captured hers. This time the hands at the leather ties of her dress where his own as he released them allowing her dress to drop down in the curve of her arms.

She loved the feel of his callused palms as they ran over her shoulders and down her back tugging at the dress. She dropped her arms so it pooled at her feet, leaving her bare but for her knee high moccasins. She took his hat off and threw it across the room, then peeled his jacket back and gave it a toss toward the chair to the right of them.

He felt her hand go around his waist and up his back as she pulled herself closer to him and began to rub her soft breasts back and forth against his chest. His own nipples responded to the pressure and his lower body was working up a powerful thirst for her as well. He moved back a bit when she pulled her arms from around him and reached to undo his gun belt, letting it drop to the floor.

Next came the bandana from around his neck as she pulled him down to place a kiss at the now exposed skin. She dropped the leather suspenders from his shoulders and reached for the buttons of his shirt as her lips again met his.

Vin helped her with his shirt and then groaned as she brushed her hands against his erection while trying to get his pants off. After a moment spent getting his boots off she came against him again trapping heat between their bodies.

Knowing that ‘Bina was not use to sleeping on a bed anymore than he was, he stepped away from her to drag the blanket off and throw it onto the floor before he followed her down to lay beside her.

He watched her as she removed her moccasins, her hair draped around her like a golden curtain and he reached out to touch it, lifting it and letting it run through his fingers. When she was done she laid on her side facing him; both of them with the heads propped up on open palms - not touching - just looking at what lay open before them.

Sabina was the first to move, reaching out to placed her palm open over his heart feeling the thundering beat as she gave him a push. She climbed up to straddle him trapping his hardness between her legs and starting to move ever so slowly so he was rubbing against her. She sat back and reached for his hands bringing them up to cover her breasts.

Vin closed his eyes and concentrated on the feel of her moving over him, the softness of her breasts and the nipples hard against his palms. He jerked as she reached around behind and cupped his softness in her hands, gentle as she stroked them. Her position cause her body to arch back so he dropped one hand between her legs and came into contact with his own hardness where it jutted up from between her legs. He kept seeking until he found the small nub hidden in her folds and as she opened her eyes to look at him, he brought his fingers to her lips and she wet them with the moisture from her mouth.

He saw her pupil's dilate and her eyelids drop when he put that hand back between her legs, now moist from her mouth and her own juices. He felt her body clench and unclench as he manipulated her desire. He wanted to taste her, knowing her flavor would be wild and sweet.

He gave voice to his desire, 'Let me taste you.'

She almost came when he'd asked that, so concentrated on what his hands and fingers were doing to do her. She moved with him as he cupped her backside and moved her up his chest until she had one knee on each side of his face.

She was not at all sure of this position, 'Vin?'

His answer was to wrap his arms around the outside of her knees and spread her wide, preparing her for his feast.

At the first touch of his rough tongue, she moved back but was stopped by his hold on her. He moved one hand to run up the middle of her until he reached the top of her chest and pushed until she was laying back down his body, opening further to his explorations.

She moved pushing closer to the wonderful sensation he was creating, she felt him grow harder and longer under her back where she lay over him. Wanting him inside her. Needing him to stretch her until the ache was gone but also not wanting to lose the sensations that he was creating with his mouth.

He knew she would be sweet but god this was the nectar of the wild prairie flower. He moved his mouth over her, sucking and licking with gentle nips of his teeth until he felt her entire body tense on the verge of her release. He pulled away from her and moved her back down his body until she was poised over him.

Sabina lifted herself up and reached between their bodies's to take him firmly in hand. She looked up at Vin and held his eyes as she slowly lowered herself on his shaft.

He couldn’t' hold her eyes any longer. He was encased in tight wet heat and his need to moved was strong. He grabbed her hips and knew that in the morning she likely would bear some bruising. Tonight, however, he was powerless against his need to move within her.

She braced her hands on Vin's chest and pushed down against his upward rise, moving faster and faster, trying to capture the peak of pleasure that would come.

Vin needed to move in her deep and hard and this position would not allow him the leverage he needed. He stopped her movement with his hands on her hips and then rolled her until she was under him with legs splayed wide. He reached between their bodies's to find her pleasure point but her hand stopped him as she took his wrist and placed his hand back on her hips. He watched her as she smiled and sucked in her own finger to lick it and then moved her hand between her legs allowing him the use of his arms to add power to each thrust.

He watched her as she touched herself and nearly lost control, the sight enhancing the feeling he was having. He felt her internal muscles tighten and pull at him as she came closer to her release. He knew she was near when she moved both hands to the floor to give her leverage as she pushed back against him until she cried out and her head went back. She shuddered from the power of it all.

Vin picked up his pace so much that with each thrust of his hips her breath would catch. He felt her throbbing around him and when she pulled up toward him and squeezed he started to pull out of her not wanting to risk her getting pregnant. Sensing this, Sabrina locked her legs around him not allowing his retreat.

She knew Vin was not happy that she'd not let him withdraw from her; he didn't have to say it when those eyes of his screamed it at her. He pulled her into his arms and spooned around her until they feel asleep.

<<<<<Mag7>>>>>

Morning came all to soon and Sabina woke up to find that Vin was no longer with her. She sat up and brushed the hair out of her eyes. She knew that after last night she'd been right to come to him, she wanted to stay with him if he would let her.

So now she was dressed in her old pants and shirt, the woman she needed to show him last night put back up until she needed it again. Her tummy growled reminding her that she was hungry so she headed down stairs.

Inez looked up at the young lady as she came down the stairs dressed in pants and a green shirt. 'You ready for breakfast?'

Sabina nodded her head distractedly as she searched the room for Vin.

The barmaid watched the blond woman and knew she must be looking for Vin. He'd come down and was gone before daylight and then back in about twenty minutes ago asking Inez to give Sabina breakfast and he would pay her later. Inez noticed the troubled furrow of his brow and knew that something was not right this morning.

'Have you seen Vin?' Sabina asked of the other woman.

'He was here a while ago and wanted to make sure that you had breakfast.' Inez offered.

'I'll wait for him then thank you.' And she headed outside in her search.

Chris saw her leave the saloon and look her way before scanning the street for Vin. He'd bet Ezra that this was not going to turn out well since he knew that Vin didn't want to be tied down and he could already see the need for him written all over this woman. He shook his head at the wonder of it all, ten years apart and one night together, he just hoped it turned out all right for both of them.

Buck came up beside Chris and watched as Sabina headed toward the livery.

'She sure has a hungry look about her don't she?'

Chris turned to the other man, 'What?'

Buck ran his fingers over his mustache smoothing it down and smiled, 'She's hot on his trail, Pard, can see if from a mile away. That boy done been caught. He might as well stand still an’ let her catch up.' He chuckled at his own joke and moved off toward the jail.

Vin was tightening Peso's chest strap when he heard someone coming into the livery. He turned with his hand on the hog leg strapped to his side and then relaxed when he saw Sabina.

'Hey.' He said as he turned back to what he was doing.

She approached him slowly disheartened that his welcome was not warmer after the night they shared.

He started to feel uncomfortable when she didn't speak, 'You have something ta eat yet?'

She moved up beside him, 'I was waiting for you.'

Vin took a deep breath as he turned around, 'Bina, 'bout last night '

She put her fingers to his lips, 'Don't speak if it is only to give me your regrets. It was beautiful and I don't want to forget it.'

He nodded his head so she removed her fingers knowing he would not feel the need to apologize to her any longer.

'Let’s talk.' He said as he took her by the arm and led her toward one of the empty stalls and a pile of fresh hay. Both sat down Indian style as he began to speak.

He told her of the bounty on his head and the risk he took everyday. How hard it was for him to settle and that he didn't want to become a farmer or landowner so he had nothing to offer a woman. Telling her that as good as he felt about being here in this town he still might have to leave one day or end up at the end of a rope.

When she heard all he had to say, she told her own story of loving him as she grew. Of how brief her marriage was to his friend and that she came from a nomadic people, knowing he should understand that she did not require nor want to own land. She wanted to be with him and was willing to work to support herself, understanding that he did not make enough to support them both here in town.

'I can love you Vin and let you be free. What other woman can you say the same about?' She asked him as she held his hand. 'And if there comes a day that you no longer want me, I will leave.'

'Don't know that I can ask that of ya Bina.'

Sabina rose to her knees in front of him and cupped her palms around his cheeks, 'You are not asking Vin, I am giving.' And she kissed him full on the mouth.

The End

This is the first story in the series called Home Fires with Vin, Sabina and the boys. The next story, Tough Guys, will give more background on Bear and his connection to New Mexico and why he helps the children knowing they are safer in the hands of the fierce Comanche rather than their own kind.
