Author's Notes: This is an AU set in Britain, RNLI stands for Royal National Lifeboat Institution. This charity provides lifeboats for all of the United Kingdom and Ireland; the majority of crews are unpaid volunteers who risk their lives to save others.

Being a British AU it uses english English and British references. I feel most will be self explanatory to non-Brits. I have provided a glossary at the end of words that might take some explanation, one however I feel should be explained here and now-The Penlee Lifeboat from the village of Mousehole in Cornwall was lost with all hands in 1981.

To anyone who knows the inner workings of the RNLI, I apologise for the inaccuracies, things had to be bent some; this is after all fiction.
